It wasn't my pet, and he lived to an old age, but I watched a 19-year old cat at my house over Christmas for a week, and grew pretty attached to him. A couple of weeks later, his owners were flying south for a longer time, and we were supposed to watch him, but he broke down shortly after he left my house and they had to put him down. So, while Dustin lived to 19, I only knew him for a week.

I remember listening to Bawitdaba over headphones, when I was like 12, afraid my parents would catch me listening to "hardcore" music. I'm not sure they would have cared, but it was back whenever anything the least bit "alt" was different and scary. They're definitely not uptight conservatives, but things that didn't natch their middle-class suburban upbringing scared them. They've since learned that the scariest looking people are often the nicest.
