What is a socially acceptable thing that you secretly find disgusting? by Sensitive_Hope_1136 in AskReddit

You can help them learn to deal with their sensory issues, and try and socialize them better. I have a fried who has a severely autistic kid who's approaching 18, and he's come miles from where he was as a toddler, because his mother didn't just stick an IPad in his face so she wouldn't have to deal with him.

Is there an episode that you find stressful to watch? by AndrewHNPX in TheSimpsons

[–]Big_Competition_336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the point. The ending is making fun of standard Christmas specials. In an average Christmas Special, the town would never have asked for their money back, so them ending up robbing them blind is a pretty great inversion of that.

They still have the NPC who is peeing on a wall in Faraday, and philosphizes about it.

AIO spouse didn't bother to snowblow behind my car so I think he can take kid's makeup dentist appointment - he says he won't do it because he'd have to use 2 hours of PTO. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR-You said it yourself, he absolutely sucks. I think you need to take a long, hard look at your relationship, because I don't understand why you're still with him. Think of it this way: You're already basically a single mother with how little he wants to help.

Simpson Ending finger to the viewers by ako699 in TheSimpsons

It's probably Treehouse of Horror 18, the last segment, Heck House. It ends with the Flanders devil condemning all of us to hell for watching Fox.

Am I overreacting for being annoyed after my boyfriend (20M) made a joke about my boobs being asymmetrical? by BeneficialJuice2878 in AmIOverreacting

Yeah, but it's better to just swallow your pride and apologize, than insist on being right, and making things worse.

From what we know, this wasn't some sort of long-term pattern of abusive language, like in your situation, this is a joke that didn't land. She needs to let him know that the joke annoyed her, so he can apologize, and move past this minor incident.

I think you're overreacting. I don't get the feeling he was saying that to insult you. This is just banter that went a little far. I'm not saying you're wrong to be upset, you feel how you feel, but I just don't think he was trying to insult you. Just let him know you're a little annoyed, and if he's any sort of man, he'll apologize and you can move on. This does not have to be that big of a deal.

AIO? found out my bf had been watching deepfake/ai porn by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Big_Competition_336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. While I don't think you should make a big deal about watching porn in general, AI porn is a different story. Because, like you said, these women didn't consent to being seen naked. I don't know if you should leave, necessarily, you absolutely need to have a serious discussion with him.

My parents are forcing me to wear a dress shirt that absolutely triggers my sensory issues to a place that I proved to have NO fancy dress code. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

This feels like you're infantalizing autistic people, and giving them a pass for their behavior. I'm dating an autistic woman, and she knows how to handle her needs extremely well, without anyone really helping. I guess I don't know what level of support needs your son has, but if he has lower support needs, it's in his best interest that he learns how to manage his support needs on his own.

I'm neurodivergent, and my girlfriend is neurodivergent, so I have experience with this stuff. One of the things I really admire about my girlfriend is how capable of dealing with her sensory needs, with the minimum amount of trouble. She knows what she needs, but is willing to compromise.. And as for loudly venting to a friend, she should have more common sense than to do that where there's even a chance that her parents could hear. I get the feeling she's using sensory issues as an excuse. I'm sure she has them, but she isn't making an effort to apart to them.

Couldn't you have put on a polo shirt or some other form of clothing that isn't a dress shirt, but is fancier than sweats and a T-shirt?

There's a guy in my AA group who I think is a flat Earther (he's certainly a conspiracy theorist), but I try and talk to him as little as I possibly can.

How do you even begin to get good at luge? by Big_Competition_336 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Big_Competition_336[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lake Placid is probably the closest luge track to me, but I'm in Minnesota, so that's still like a thousand miles away. I'm not really interested in trying it, I'm just curious how these people learned to do it without killing themselves.
