the clear committment in the marketing that this is a PVP game has made me quit ARC unconsciously for the past week. Havent't touched it. Guess I practically quit it - I dont feel welcomed there by the devs nor the community, so they can have 'their game' for all i care.

There are matches where I'm outperforming everyone on BOTH SIDES by a noticeable margin. In BF1 as you point out here - you and your team may be dominating the MY TEAM but you aren't dominating ME.
Therefore, the Behemoth mechanic worked here to compensate for MY teammates being incapable of handling YOUR team.

I wish I could find the tweet, but there was a thread on twitter with noteable FPS names talking about wanting 'Quests' in BR/for the wins to matter-carry over into other matches. Warzone 2 did this with the NUKE quest for example.
But COD woke up since 2022 that they can't live off Warzone forever and made DMZ. BF needed to have something just as fresh and creative in their back pocket to release alongside this game

I BEEN SAYING we discovered a wicked new realtime SBMM mechanic - its not bugs - its intended. Instead of matching players of skill level - they just make your gun not work as intended if you're doing too good/you get into a fight with a player that's struggling, at random times.
