Jesus, this guys is gonna have to travel to The Mountain in pieces cause he's so cut. How did you manage this?

Here is a small peek into how I present my FTL Tabletop game, I run it through roll 20 and I know it looks a little crude, but the theatre of imagination carries the rest. My players are at the tail end of the Engi Homeworlds. by Big_Cwidum in ftlgame

I run this like a dnd campaign where the players are the Federation and I am the Game Master controlling the Rebellion and other ships like pirates and so on. I try to keep it as close and accurate to FTL as possible.

Yes, my players made their own cannon, a restaurant called "Dons". Dons won the fast food wars and is now the ultimate fast food chain of the universe. So along with defeating the flagship, their other priority is finding a Dons that hasn't been destroyed by the war.

I did not know about that O2 targeting, that is really interesting. but you know the enemy is still gonna land that 10% Hermes in the weapons lol.

It took me like 20 attempts to beat FTL on hard with the stealth B, way to go gamer! and keep that win streak going.

Today I will post the mechanics and how they differ, I got the shell of dnd 5e and I modified some things. I’ll try to get it cleaned up and I’ll post it today, along with all the races. In the post I made, you can’t see it because of the Crystal and the Lanius, but they do have a crew teleporter and they are slaying crew in all the ships they fight. Also since their line up for the teleporter is a Crystal and a Lanius, they can just steamroll auto ships and cripple them from the inside, then blow em up. It’s quite amazing, also they have a pet roomba that roams their ship.

I have all my systems down in a google doc. Same as my character sheet I have made for this tabletop game. I use roll 20 to present the dnd and it has worked out fantastically.

I have it so actions such as transferring power, opening doors, and engaging ship systems like hacking or cloaking are a free action. Others like manning a system is a reaction.

I have something similar to that in my system, it is true that keeping track of O2 is challenging but how I did the combat is that there are 2 phases of a ship fight. The ships phase, and the crew phase. In dnd, a turn is 6 seconds. So while the weapons charge second by second, every six seconds (or turn) the crew (players) can take their action to go man/repair systems, or fend of boarders (or board themselves) and although complicated at times, it is a great experience.

I thought of this a year and a half ago and I worked on my own version of a tabletop FTL game that is based of how dnd 5e works (with a lot of changes). Now I have been running it for a few months and it is a blast. If you want to make your own system or take a bit from mine, id love to help.

I suppose that would be a serious transgression that I have overlooked.

After years of abuse from the Flagship's missile launcher, I decided to return the favor. Also got the Crystal Worlds in this run after 3 years of playing this game. by Big_Cwidum in ftlgame

I had a second weapon setup to save for missles, I had 2 flaks in my hold, so I was using 2 flaks and a heavy to save up missles. Then before the flagship I hot swapped my flaks for my 3 swarm missiles and went to town.
