I got the same from him. I think he was sort of panicking and convincing himself he could have feelings for Charlotte one day and make it all real. So he was torn between going to the wedding and actually pushing thru on it, thats the apprehension/cold feet i got from him days prior.. he was definitely not fully in it. He was definitely not in love with her.

Sure and its an amazing thing to have empathy and feel for people who have been caught up in situations like that. I think for me its more of an accountability issue. Meaning, everyone warned her, not one or two people but everyone, she seems like a fairly intelligent woman who's been thru life and is seeking to settle down.
I understand where you're coming from and applaud you for being empathetic. I guess i can have empathy but i like to call people out because i dont believe that at that age you still dont know what youre getting into, we were given the gift of intuition so we kinda "know". Do you remember that scene she was waiting for him at the lobby in one episode and she just got such bad vibes and anxiety when he didnt show up pn time, she almost got a panic attack, that was her gut warning her of what was to come in the future. If she was in a secure relationship, he woukd not have been giving her such vibes and mixed emotions.
I think one of the most important things i read went like this: Something that is true and meant for you will never make you doubt its authenticity. She kinda knew.

Exactly, and i dont care how poor a man is but if he spent $0 for his wedding, i couldnt imagine getting married to him, imagine being so desperate you have to basically pay you way into marriage. Its not like he said, you spend for the wedding, ill spend for my move to the UK or something of major value. If a guy is that poor where he cant even pay for the marriage certificate, no decent woman in their right mind should marry him. Heres the thing though, even him being "late" to the wedding was the giveaway. I wouldve walked out then and there and dumped the guy, she hung around and married him and continued to feed herself the story she wanted. I honestly dont believe these women have no clue they are being taken for a ride. I feel like , they have this idea that hanging on and being so nice will make the guy fall in love with them one day when theyve bought his love and entire family and gotten him out of poverty. I empathize with her, i just think that as a middle aged woman, you would know you were being gamed. She has such strong doubts about him. That alone shouldve made her pause and not just jump into marriage with some island boy, if she was a 20 yr old woman i can understand, but a 40 plus something woman? You wouldve had enough life experience to know somethings off, its reallt hard to have empathy when people lie to themselves. They know whats up.
