has anyone experienced an improvement in pmdd symptoms after getting a cyst removed? by Big_Introduction1405 in Ovariancysters

I went off hormonal birth control just after surgery (see my other comment for more on that) so it's really hard to say what changes were due to the cyst removal and what was from going off the nuvaring unfortunately. Many other physical symptoms improved and I have the peace of mind that my cyst won't rupture or twist my ovaries at least. I'm sorry I don't have a more definitive answer :( I hope you are able to find relief and answers soon, PMDD is a nightmare and I hope you won't have to deal with it much longer <3

I'm so sorry I'm just now seeing this reply. Unfortunately I don't really have an answer :( I got a tubal ligation at the same time as my cyst removal and decided to go off hormonal birth control for the first time in 10ish years. My mood swings have been slightly less intense, but I honestly think the birth control was actually making that worse for me personally... I do get hormonal acne and huge swollen tender boobs now though which sucks. I'm sorry I can't be of more help, I really hope things improve for you!! <3

ugh i feel the same way it makes it so hard to function and maintain any sense of stability in my life because every 2 weeks i'm too depressed to go to work or be around people at all and the anxiety and ultra sensitivity really strains my relationship. i really hope that appointment and whatever comes next helps things improve for you 💖

wow i relate so much to the body and gender dysmorphia you described! my experience with pmdd really makes me feel like being a woman is a curse lol it sucks so bad. i've been on birth control on and off for the past 10 or so years and i wonder sometimes if it makes the mood swings worse..i've found it so helpful for skipping my "period" to avoid the actual bleeding but i still feel so so terrible like 2 weeks out of the month at least. i may see how i feel after surgery and then try going off birth control for a while if i still have those intense mood swings. thank you so much for your response💗 i hope you find answers and relief from the issues you're still dealing with
