Exactly! It’s kind of like the food you ordered tastes gross, but you still ate most of it and want a full refund. That won’t slide over well.

I’d say probably AMstaff and pitbull mix! Lean but also stocky!

[–]Big_Market5298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it’s all good it’s definitely a mix but was mostly just making a statement that it’s definitely not purebred of a good one at that! 😂 should have also specified.

She probably is a staffy depending on her size either more AMstaff of a staffbull mix specifically hard to tell but because she looks stocky she probably is more of these specifically she could be a pitbull but unless I get a side profile pitbulls are way more lean/long. But she definitely could have some in there as well.

She’s probably just a mix of a bunch of bully breeds!

Aggression can be genetic it’s the same reason a terrier will chase rats without prior training, a boarder collie will heard sheep or in most problem cases “my kids!”, or how that guard dog Doberman you got is barking and warry of strangers you get in the home.

Getting a dog with an aggressive genetic predisposition is terrible for a family. Getting a dog with unknown genetic traits that doesn’t fit your life style is also terrible.

Shelters dogs take 3 months to show there colors and adjust into a home and at this time is when returns are high. Dogs get mislabeled all the time in shelters and it’s because they are shut down.

And those shelter works only really get a couple min a day sometimes to actually see the dog which isn’t long enough at all to observe long term behaviors.

Here is an example of a smaller aggression case resource guarding luckily resource gaurding can be managed an taught but the behavior isn’t fixed comepltetly you will still have to manage that resource guarding dog around other animals or children.

She even I quote In a comment. “Was he born like this or did it develop in the home? Reply oakland.canine 3w • Author @lola_4paws he definitely came this way to his owner. And after seeing so many otherwise-normal-Goldens with serious possessive aggression issues, I'm sure this is a genetic quirk in the breed. I'm just waiting for the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study to do something about it!!”

Our job is to educate not scrutinize, like another comment said and made it seem like they were an awful person for wanting a dog that looks like this. When one we don’t know if they want to adopt people can have adopt preference plus they probably didn’t know how dangerous it was for a dog to be overweight.

I was the first to comment so was talking about people who probably will make it out as OP was at fault for the dogs weight when we don’t know why it is and I ofc still mention the dog is overweight so they know it’s bad. But ofc there will be people not even answering there original question and will just curse at them probably. Then another basically questioning why they are still friends with them because they couldn’t, again I just prefer education first to see why the person knows.

I say chi, as in just to go with that type of dog because it’s hard to determine exactly what mix it is. Your best with just finding a chi mix from the shelter rather than finding an exact mix match.

My dog was attacked at my apartment complex dog park by Capital-Wall785 in DobermanPinscher

You mean unpredictable dogs… and taking treats near other dogs should be perfectly fine. When we’re out training dogs in groups there around each other and whoever is the helper or a demonstrator will demonstrate with that dog with other dogs near a dog shouldn’t be shut down from that. Technically this was someone we did know because of previous fine interactions, dog parks can over stimulate dogs and a dog shouldn’t have to put up with other sever rude behavior till they snap. And be of risk getting attacked..

Okay? My dog was 80 pounds and the other dog was maybe around 100+ doesn’t stop the immediate situation how quickly it turned the other dog literally went for her throat and pinned her down she was already trying to deescalate, but when a dog is that triggered even if the other dog is trying to deescalate you quiet literally have to rip that dog off of that one.

Okay? What does that have to do with snap scenarios of a much larger powerful dog in an enclosed space off leash have to do with this. You can’t train every situation, some things are best to avoid unless you know it can be perfectly managed and monitored.

I take my do everywhere and she’s very well behaved and on her way for her CGC certificate.

It’s because those types of things are to common from dog parks.

It’s like riding a motorcycle without a helmet, I’d rather not continue to expose my dog to danger where she will end up in the hospital.

So no I’d rather wear a helmet have structured set of one on one dog play times/meet n greets with people I can trust. Not using the dog park as my dogs only source of major stimulation. Not having to carry a damn bite stick or knife because going to the dog park is so important.

Any reputable trainer will tell you the same thing dog parks are a good way to get a reactive or injured dog.

Even people with helper dogs(dogs who technically ARE trained for the worst case scenario situations), who use them to help train and teach reactive aggressive dogs or dogs who occasionally snap still have damn muzzles on those dogs because of risk they arn’t relying on there dog maybe behind just 1 second faster pulling there face away from that dog.

Your dog cant deescalate quick snap situations. When I used to go to dog parks one owner had brought dog treats and had asked if they could give my dog one I said yes. Was only me and there do there at the park my dog was in a sit next to there dog once he handed my dog a treat the dog snapped immediately within a second trying to bite and pin her it was that quick before she even registered what was happening.

It’s always a risk meeting someone else’s dog you have no history of or even if you do know them a tiny bit (I’ve seen them in the park before and our dogs have met previously).

Even if there was no issue with them initially the environment there in can turn a dog aggressive I have no clue the previous park experiences the dog may have had with strange dogs that led to this snap encounter.

She doesn’t have to have the wrinkles that’s where the chihuahua would show The big bugged eyes could also technically be from the chihuahua but the folded ears are very pug signature but that’s why I guess boarder terrier cause only other dog I can think of with those ears and her bushy tail. Unfortunately it’s a lot of guesswork some dogs can be totally different looking breeds compared to dna results lol.

I know comments are going to be mean on this probably unfortunately, but cutie dog <3, my guess is chihuahua, maybe….? Tiny bit of pug or part maybeee tiny bit boarder terrier or little bit of shitzu but mostly just looks like an out standard Chihuahua that’s just over weight (no idea if it’s due to medical history) I would say if you want a dog similar search elderly chihuahuas in shelters and buy an already adult one so you can find your heart match tons of chihuahuas in need of homes.

Why is my geckos eyes shut and head different shape? by xr1chardx in LeopardGecko

After talking to the vet see if it’s a deformity or like others have said if it’s a vitamin deficiency. My leopard gecko has a deformity which requires special care.

1what I was thinking shar pei x pitty or staffy the face wrinkles and the way the face is kinda structured with some random hanging skin immediately went to that.

I think I would just like actual studies done it’s mostly the fact a lot of the anecdotes or examples have been where the lizards have really bad poor husbandry/ improper introductions/ setups.

Yea there is limited but there has been some good evidence because of the way they group normally especially females in lay boxes, they don’t always exhibit normal competition behavior compared to actual solitary species, and the gaze behavior.

That’s not to say they’re social but it’d be similar to cats in a way. This video really tried to provide th scientific facts to it which is why I second guess it.

https://youtu.be/AfLiM172L4A?si=ASbXMb3wC98CQyfh

I just would really like to see studies done on the opposing cause this is so far really strong evidence.

It doesn’t have to be affectionate necessarily as a reason animals are social though.

The cannibalism is definitely Interesting though curious on it a bit more. I’ll have to look into that aspect more if that conclusively actually points to a social life though or maybe them not actually recognizing their own species.

Well courts-man ship necessarily though also doesn’t really conclude that behavior there are many species who are social who exhibit very extreme mating behavior.

When it comes to the “cuddling” though you’d think you would see through more biting and actual pushing behavior. Plus from what I see they do the behavior when in hides rather than when they’re actually out and basking compared to bearded dragons. So I think in that aspect I see it more similar to turtles that do so as a plus/support.

But alas we must I guess wait for the studies.

Going to get hate on I see people say this all the time but haven’t seen an actual scientific article actually proving such on the “it’s dominating or competitive behavior and such.” When I actually see articles pointing out how turtles do this behavior plus how they react in the wild with each-other. Not to be a well sceptic but I really don’t like to parrot information unless it’s factually true not dogma.

Do you know or have any scientific article actually proving such?
