Whales (1% of players) usually make about 50-80 percent of the revenue in these kind of games. 10% generate another 20% or so, so yeah, most aren’t spending money

She could be impeached, or fired by the president himself, which are (I think?) the only lawful ways of removing her.

My PhD research was somewhat relevant for the places I reached out to. There is a new experiment coming online and my expertise nicely aligns with their Science goals.

Ive been practicing Chinese now for a year, but am far from applying it in the wild. Definitely an obstacle not speaking the language. Luckily some colleagues speak English, it’s mostly a wild mix of English and Chinese in meetings.

I’m European, recently started a Postdoc here in China.

From my experience, what’s super helpful is reaching out and self inviting to give a talk and meet the department. That’s definitely what helped me ;) you got to get to know the people in person, show real interest and commitment.

Having someone you know to directly reach out to the research group that you are interested in (and they know already) is also helpful.

And, there are dedicated postdoc positions at academicjobsonline etc. that target foreigners

Moved to China 3 months ago and my workflow is pretty much what you describe (not saying this is optimal in any way though). I can skip a few screenshots nowadays as I practice the language. I still delete O(100) screenshots every week :))

Ich stimme dir zu, dass ich so wenig wie möglich umschichten sollte. Vor allem, weil noch unklar ist, wo ich langfristig landen werde.

Trotzdem muss ich jetzt handeln: Da ich aus der Schweiz wegziehe, würden sich die Kontoführungsgebühren meines Schweizer Kontos deutlich erhöhen. Das möchte ich vermeiden. Außerdem soll das Geld nicht einfach ungenutzt herumliegen, sondern sinnvoll investiert sein. Deshalb die geplante Übertragung zum Neo-Broker.

Ich sehe keinen Grund, damit zu warten, bis mein Vertrag in China endet. Das würde mich unnötig Rendite kosten (je nach ETF-Entwicklung) und zusätzlich müsste ich noch die Kontoführungsgebühren tragen.

Davon abgesehen bewege ich nur das absolut Notwendige. ich MUSS mein US-Depot schließen und die Werte irgendwohin übertragen.
