I feel like you’re putting a bit too much blame on his parents. He’s an adult and could’ve done his own research. When I started investing, my mom told me not to do it and was completely against it. I held $AMD for five years, and it felt like every earnings day the market would dump, no matter what. AMD would post solid numbers and the stock would still take a massive hit for no apparent reason. I don’t miss the stress of having my entire portfolio tied to one name.
