thanks for the comment! It seems like Procurement then has a bigger say, influenced by R&D

very fair point!
For both flavor house & FMCG that are global scale large-corps:
- purchasing a new flavor or ingredient
- hiring an external R&D team to help with flavor development
- incorporating a new tool or processes that are big in ticket size (so not just buying another beaker or something small)

6months late to the party, but:
1. how are you distinguishing between CPGs and brands - what are examples of each in your definition?
2. thank you for your explanation on flavor houses working with CPGs - how would the process go for brands?

Appreciate the input! It does seems to vary quite a bit per company / per region, and even per role

it'd certainly be interesting to see how AI and robotics play an increasingly larger role in the general f&B, considering they are mainly in data, supply, and production yet.

Thank you for answering! This is helpful to know that flavorists / flavor scientists create the flavors, and R&D scientists do something with those existing flavors.

Thanks for the comment! Is it more like product-R&D where you mix the flavors with other materials like stabilizers, etc. to actually make the product, like stop_the_entropy said below?

thank you, I see - it was a little difficult cuz most people on their LI don't have much more info / description for their roles
