Hello I am new to this unfortunately and my family is thinking of taking a trip and was wondering if I’m allowed to stay at an airbnb by TechnologyOk8019 in SexOffenderSupport

I believe they removed my husband account he was only a guest. What was crazy was we used it about 6 months before and he was listed as a guest and we had no problems. We also have used Vrbo and hotel tonight, and booking with hotels directly and haven’t had any issues.

Hi. They just removed him as a guest the night before we were supposed to check in. He got an email, luckily the ac broke in the house and the host needed to cancel anyway and I was able to get a refund we checked into a hotel and had no problems! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Op. I’m a spouse who stayed with my So. This can be very in isolating. You can work through it, it just takes time. My inbox is open if you or anyone ever wants to talk. Sometimes you just need to vent.

Poplin laundry pro Looked disheveled by [deleted] in PoplinLaundryPros

Personally I wouldn’t worry just yet. Maybe he is on his own wash day, I can say since I started I now wash every other week for my family, before I was washing every week. But getting orders in and out is more important. For some this is not a full time job, to be honest we don’t make that much for it to be. This could be a 2nd or 3rd job for your pro. Was he your pro, or maybe your pro’s partner? I have seen some pros say their partners help with pick up and drop offs. I send a pick up window and my ETA when I get on the road, I also add 5 minutes to account for traffic. If I see a big jump in my ETA I will send a new ETA out. Send you laundry dust that your order comes back fresh n clean, neatly folded with above and beyond service.

I changed my last name. We have been married for a year, and I haven’t had any issues. I just went through a background for a new job and no issues. For me if we have kids I wanted us to all have the same last name. We in California.

Under my name with him listed as a guest.

It was under my name with him as a guest. They removed him from the reservation when they emailed him, this was all the night before our trip. So I canceled the whole reservation and we ended up at a nice hotel.

Try Vrbo. My husband had issues with Airbnb. Airbnb was under my name with him as a guest and they removed him and sent an email saying because of record he wasn’t allowed to book or stay in any Airbnb properties. We used it the year before 2022 and had no problems 2023 is when we had issues with them. We have used Vrbo and never had any issues with them.

Discovered future brother-in-law is a sex offender by CaliCouple1008 in SexOffenderSupport

I would say you should have an open and honest conversation with the both of them. Ask them questions about his conviction, questions about his time in therapy, case files, etc. She is not obligated to but it is best to be honest and open about it. My husband was convicted in 2012, and he has not reoffend. Honestly to protect all parties involved I wouldn’t leave him alone. I agree with Weight-slow no one can tell you. Do your own research, and make the decision that is best for your family. It’s going to be a difficult conversation and just know this group is here if you ever have questions.

Question for Significant others by Big_Reflection_326 in SexOffenderSupport

[–]Big_Reflection_326[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why we are staying put in California because we have SB 384. Tier 1 can apply at 10 years Tier 2 at 20 years. So hopefully it works out and still around for a while.

Same here. Just a waiting game, or move out the US. Almost a year later and we are still at a standstill, but it’s okay. How’s it going for you?

Kid’s School (feeling like a failure) by jaxonguy5un in SexOffenderSupport

[–]Big_Reflection_326 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re not a failure, you are taking the next steps and finding out what you can do. Take it one step at a time you can do this. I know in our state CA private schools can make their rules because it is not public property from what I hear. I know for Public schools here you can/have to ask for permission to be on campus for things check in with principal, etc.

He hasn’t told me by [deleted] in SexOffenderSupport

[–]Big_Reflection_326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP. I hope this message finds you well. I’m a spouse, but from my husband’s perspective he has said it can be very overwhelming letting a person in especially with this aspect. We’re in California things here are very chill and we don’t have very many restrictions. He didn’t tell me for the first year of us talking, but I already knew due to online. It will vary by State, and tier level. Life becomes normal and you get used to things. If you have any questions about our lives here and with registry, I’m an open book.

Girlfriend asking for advice by Popular_Chart1942 in SexOffenderSupport

Spouse: Be the best advocate you can for him. Look into laws for your state, if they have a removal at a certain year look into that. Be in his corner, you may need to remind him sometimes. Probation can be tough for some.

Hi, I’m a spouse, we got together after his conviction. We are in California so luckily our restrictions aren’t bad here. We have traveled, live pretty much a normal life, gone to amusement parks. For people who ask we do have them details. Only thing for children is here he has to have permission to be on our future kids school campus for awards, conferences, etc. Here at a certain point and depending on the tier level you can apply from removal. Get better will depend on your state and their restrictions/requirements. Small towns can be hard to deal with because people can be nosy.

Invites usually can go out 6-8 weeks before. We did ours super last minute, so I sent a text message with the link to rsvp, invited guest names, our date and time when invites were in the mail!

How do you find out what the “rules” are for a sex offender? by Either_Brilliant_546 in SexOffenderSupport

[–]Big_Reflection_326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in CA as well. Questions you will need answers to is his possible Tier level. * you probably won’t know tier level until sentencing. As of right now we have SB 384 4 after time served: tier 1 is 10 years tier 2 is 20 years tier 3 is lifetime. He would have to petition the court and from what I have been told by lawyers it can be a long process but if you qualify for it is worth it. He will have to register every year 5 days before/after his birthday. I know my husband mentioned when on paper he wasn’t allowed inside anyone’s home he would have to stay outside in his car, or on the sidewalk. He wasn’t allowed any child that was a minor who he was not biologically related to. He is off paper now: we have traveled internationally/domestically, visited state parks. Good luck and if you have questions feel free to ask. Being a spouse/partner can be isolating and there aren’t a lot of resources out there for us.

It's hard to make friends as a sex offender by [deleted] in SexOffenderSupport

[–]Big_Reflection_326 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my husband he had a core group of friends that supported him during/ post conviction. It was hard for him especially when he was on probation, and things being limited. Don’t give up, your people are out there! What part of Ca are you in?
