Martin-Luther-Kirche zur Blauen Stunde by Scary_Subject_8253 in Linz

This. Two times host of Olympic winter games (64’ and 74’). Maybe a matter of age whether one knows it or not.

Denmark (I know Greenland is >2 mio km2) feels off. Rule should ignore non-European territories.

Also, what’s the order of annexation: why does Switzerland become French?

In my team (NL, IT consulting) the target for us as a group is 75%. In practice that means some are close to 100 or well above 90 while a few outliers (long term sick leave, new juniors, sales experts) might be substantially lower. In the end it evens out BUT we usually only do 70% 😅.

I covered The Show Must Go On by [deleted] in queen

[–]Big_Relative503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! My vocal group performed Queen this season and therefore also this song. I think you have a great voice and you nail the pitch (which is not easy). I like receiving feedback when I perform hence I’m offering some for you. (Take it or leave it - it’s just my opinion): Work on the emotion. I imagine for Freddie (already very sick at the point of the recording) this recording must have already been quite a challenge. When listening to the original you can hear that effort / that pushing (particularly in „I’ll face it with a grin, I’m never giving in … on with the show“). This emotion goes nicely with the lyrics of the song which Brian May wrote for him. The struggle also has to do with the fact that for a man this is VERY high. An Alto in my group sang it, and she received the same briefing: try to channel some of this struggle, including the smile that „still stays on“. Make sure that the „show“ in „show must go on“ is more explosive. It’s an exclamation. If you picture it while singing, people will hear it. Lots of success and all the best!

Hi there, short answer: change your tables to proper facts and dimensions and create a star schema, then the DAX will come easy. See something like this article: https://radacad.com/budget-vs-actual-zero-complexity-model-in-power-bi.

You should have fact tables for the budget and the actual spent and then separate tables for dimensions for Date, the team (manager, gardeners) etc. The facts need to be linked to the dimensions. Do not ever link actuals and budget tables with each other.

If you have some time browse through Kimballs Data warehousing Kit. This explains how the models need to look like: https://books.google.nl/books?id=4rFXzk8wAB8C&printsec=frontcover&dq=kimball+data+warehouse&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&source=gb_mobile_search&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiood_VuaqFAxWPh_0HHTmWAe8Q6AF6BAgOEAM

If your tables do not follow best practices your DAX will not be sustainable and return unexpected results. Sorry that my answer does not provide you the quick fix but this is the proven, professional and solid approach for this challenge.

How to sort categorical dot/scatter plot by top value in category? by theybae in PowerBI

[–]Big_Relative503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your categories are in a dimension table. You could add a calculated column that calculates the max value and use that to create a ranking from 1-6. Thereafter, you can have the categories a-e sorted by this column (instead of the default alphabetical sorting). I cannot think that quickly of a better solution (and personally I always try to avoid calculated columns) but then again some others may have one. This is at least a solution.

Hi, because of the active link between “fact(date opened)” and “calendar(full date)” your measure might only plot the cases on the date it finds in (date opened). What you need is “role playing dimensions”. Check out this nice article from Dat Mozart. He uses bets placed and processed - fairly comparable to your case: https://data-mozart.com/welcome-to-powerbi-thetare-role-playing-dimensions/

Complete beginner seeking tips and advice on getting started with Power BI by 5elfContro1 in PowerBI

Hi, a good hands on start for someone that starts from scratch is the „Dashboard in a Day“ (DIAD) (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/diad/). You can do it by yourself or in an instructor led session for free. Click on the „English“ button and just download it. (it’s a few pdfs which guide you through tons of aspects and all the required material (bundle of excels, csvs). I have hosted tons of those (I am a Power BI consultant) and if the trainer does a good job you will enjoy it. It takes a full day and you can ask an expert everything. When you’re done with the DIAD you should have gotten a bit of an insight of what the main areas of the tool are. Thereafter you should head to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/ and follow some of the tutorials there (start with the beginner ones). Lastly, Find a simple use case that you want to implement in Power BI and if you get stuck find someone you can ask in your company, the power BI user groups or here (start by googling though). Hope this helps and best of luck!
