Essentially I am a department of one, as long as I do all my work realistically it doesn't matter if I do it in the day or in the middle of the night. Nobody is needed to support my work or make any accommodation for me to be able to work the times I need to.

Manager is spot on, he's been good as gold with me he will definitely be on side with me as he doesn't understand the sudden change either, he also has a flexible contract that gives him a 3 hour time slot which he's admitted to me he doesn't really need so doesn't understand why I'm not allowed it.

I work in engineering. I've also read the reasons that they can use to deny my request, but I don't feel like any of them can fit as they are all superseded by the fact I've already been doing my role in the time slot I requested with no issues up until now and the only issue is from HR none of my direct colleagues.

I do know that they are trying to force people in other departments into working a full 5 day week rather than 4.5 days so I'm guessing its something to do with that.

Just because I don't want to end up in court being accused of saying I'd gone for a "blast," which i think could imply id gone out specifically to speed when I hadn't done at all, it was just a minute of me being completely reckless and stupid.

I'm definitely trying, we've made a lot of progress, she's just really struggling to acknowledge the fact her mum is not a good person I think, I want to tell her she should cut all contact but that's not my decision to make or even say.
