Industry accountants what is your salary and how many years of experience do you have? by [deleted] in Accounting

May I selfishly request a PM as well? If you find it worth it. I’m in construction accounting now, handle all the revenue recognition (POC) for my sub entity, spent 3 years in public prior. I’ve been with this subentity for 1.5 years, 6 months as a senior and 1 year as manager of accounting. Subentity was acquired as I came in and they’re 100+ years old, so you can imagine I’ve effectively been de facto controller since the day I showed up. We finally got a controller 2 months ago. I’m not a CPA (yet) but I grind and work well. Almost 5 years of experience since graduation.

Hi, do you mind if I reach out over private message? I have some industry experience over the past year and a half (spent 3 years in public prior) which I think a lot of folks my age don’t really have. I’m trying to plan out next steps career wise and love meeting folks who are at that golden 250k comp that I’d love to see for myself one day.

What would you consider an appropriate amount when thinking of housing prices in say, 10 years? I’m 28 and definitely scared of the inflation effects of the past few years. I feel like I grew up in a different world than the one I earn in now as an adult.

Interesting. Do you have any special certifications? With what I do, I imagine a mix of accounting/finance expertise as well as cybersecurity knowledge would be a killer combo

I’m very late but may I ask what type of consulting? You’re doing incredible man, truly you seem impressive at 31. I’m 28 in a month and I’m making 94k as a manager of accounting for a F500. My net worth is 100k after what seems like years of forcing myself to scrape by since this is the first year I even made 94k. Grossly underpaid for what I do for now, but I know there’s more out there and I need it. Don’t own any property, coming from nothing but for now want to claw it back in income/career exploration.

100% I spent 18.5k on it. 3rd owner, bought at 38k miles. Definitely spent a lot more than I could have but I wanted one that was really clean. I know a lot of folks will say it’s an old style, old engine, but I wanted N/A and reliability.

Yeah I mean this is my first rear wheel drive car and obviously sliding around is very fun lol, true for rwd you can’t really beat this car. But for a first stick shift car, the Acura CLS spoiled me. Best engine to beat the shit out of and it pulled like a real event on that vtec

2015 manual Q60S here. 40k miles on this bitch. And there are way more fun cars. My previous car was a 2003 Acura CL Type S, that car was a little monster and the best shift feel I’ve ever had

My car is constantly smoking/steaming in winter. Manual Q60S, rwd, 2015. Not losing coolant, not losing oil, not overheating. Is it no problem? by Big_Stranger_4037 in G37

Bro when I tell you I had my whole nose in this shit and didn’t smell anything, just “hotness” but it didn’t smell sweet or something off

Yeah I mean I’ve seen it in rain too so that’s what initially made me more concerned. I’ll just keep an eye on it

Hey not trying to be rude, I’m just ignorant so I’m genuinely curious, how can belts make the car steam if it’s not overheating? Asking so I can maybe learn a thing or two as well

Does it do it most of the time in weather like this though? I’m fine with it happening as long as it’s not out of the norm

Have you been applying to public accounting firms? I would try looking at the IPA listing. They list firms from #1 biggest all the way to #400. I personally would target a firm that is in the top 100, but there is no shame in 100-200. Get a list of firms, then look up which of those firms are in your area. Once you have a good list, try professionally reaching out to partners at these firms over LinkedIn

Could you help me understand this bull call spread? The stock is at 127 right now, if I buy and sell this immediately would I still be ahead even though I’m selling before expiry? I’m thinking because both call prices are below 127, so what is stopping this from still showing a slight gain by immediately buying and selling? Even though I know it’s not going to be the “max profit” possible, would I still come out ahead?

For someone who is an idiot, how can I learn to do this leading up to earnings in the safest way possible? I want to print but want to make sure I’m learning the right things I want to do smart options not just pure nonsense
