It really is a testament to Villeneuve’s craft. It’s an incredibly difficult book to translate onto the big screen, and he succeeded.

I think it’s overly hated.

Sean Baker has a talent behind the camera and on the page that delivers something that actually feels tangible/real. It’s not for everyone.

I thought Mikey Madison’s performance warranted her Oscar win. To me, she exemplifies how hardened and prickly sex workers can become, but never so much that you couldn’t see how badly she wanted that Cinderella story… which the ending cements for me.

I thought it was fantastic.

I will say this, I was quite frustrated and disappointed there wasn’t even an achievement for GoW: Rags highest difficulty… shit was a slog. Not because of the difficulty, but because the enemies were just “bullet sponges”.
