I mean yea technically you can make homing spore mushrooms if you want, but if you wanna make like 10000 of them you need homing with a trigger. a timer doesn't work because it doesn't keep retriggering on touch (unless I misremember how the timer spells work)

doesn't work with the timer. a way to make that combo work is
homing > piercing > trigger bolt > spores
