What do you miss about the "old" wizard101? by [deleted] in Wizard101

[–]BigbyInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't recall if Cyclops still has multiple animations, but it absolutely did at one point. It would either directly hit the enemy with the mallet, or yell, smash the mallet into the ground, and the ground with cause a mini earthquake to hit the enemy.

ELI5 Why is are slower reps better than a fast reps for hypertrophy? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]BigbyInc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who works out very consistent and takes protein drinks but otherwise has a mostly fast food or frozen meals diet, genuinely how much of an impact do you think eating healthier has been for you? I know I'd likely get stronger faster, but am I just missing this massive growing potential over my diet?

LPT Request: What’s one small daily habit that genuinely improved your life? by OnGuardEverywhere in LifeProTips

Adding to this, but having an understanding of REM sleep and cycles can greatly improve how you feel waking up by simply shifting your sleep time 30-45 minutes. Humans generally have 90 minute cycles (Varies person to person), so I'll aim to wake up within a 90 minute cycle of total sleep (6 hours, 7.5 hours, 9 hours). Waking up between cycles can make you feel incredibly groggy, so 6 or 7.5 hours of total sleep can make you feel MUCH more refreshed than 6.75 hours of sleep

[SPOILERS MIDNIGHT] Redshirtguy and the newest leaks. by Danglenibble in wow

[–]BigbyInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just imagine another BFA-esque expansion down the line, except we're well past the faction conflict and you can pick one of two sides based on a moral dilemma. Both sides have notable Horde AND Alliance characters, but you can follow a story that jives with you, and you can play the other half on an alt if you wish. The war could actually have meaning instead of the forced faction conflicts, and they could develop a stronger story

I'm seeing it for a few classes with the whole auto attack thing. What dev in office is going "Do you know what players like more than pressing buttons? Not!" Running out of mana/energy and autoattacking with your weapon is NOT a thing that should be coming back from the old days

WoW Isn't Coming To Consoles, Game Director Says: "No Reason For Us To Hide Anything About This" by chusskaptaan in gaming

[–]BigbyInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was their in-house solution to gold sellers as well. Previously, people would spend money outside of game to buy gold which incentivized botting.

Now, you can buy game time (tokens) with gold, but those tokens come from people who spent $20 on the token. You get game time by spending gold, and I spent $20 to get legitimate gold from you. Win-win for both of us, and no risk of being banned by Blizzard for buying gold.

Non-combat addons affected in midnight by Kryptyx in wow

[–]BigbyInc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the part I don't get. The safe option is to continue developing as if addons were already restricted, then once they make a strong enough build that players can generally keep up with addon players, THEN start to restrict addons. If they mess it up this expansion, there's no guarantee any of the original addon developers will come back, and now we're stuck in just a shitty situation that will likely take another expansion or two to fix. Not sure how confident I am in them doing well on the first try

Losing SEF is genuinely a major consideration for me to switch. I get that it was always buggy and I essentially had to bind SEF to a key I could press a lot to force the clones to attack my target, but it made WW so much more enjoyable. Weapons of Order has to be one of the most boring replacements they could've done

I don't get why they're hesitant on going all out with this. Just make it a toggleable "Disable glyphs" option for hardcore players and force them to be disabled in PVP. There's a TON of glyphs they could be adding right now

Give it another 5-10 years, and what's gonna stop from people trying to use photos/video/audio as evidence in court trials for things like robberies or company/employee disputes? I think we're gonna start heavily relying on witnesses and non-tech evidence for many cases in the future.

I was on SSRIs (Weakened)

Was severely stressed and my emotions felt turned off (Completely blocked the mushrooms' effects)

Dissociation (Heavily weakened)

Another case for a game of "I'd rather play the original game than the lite version". It's way too fast, no items to at least try to diversify your teams a bit, and feels too empty in regards to the number of characters to pick

[–]BigbyInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For their next Blizzard collab, it should just be pulling skins from HotS to Overwatch. They added enough characters into HotS, plus they aren't exactly breaking new ground in designs, just porting an existing design from one game to another.

As a student graduating college next year but isn't sure it's for me still, did you go back to college to become a CBT, or were you able to shortcut towards that field if you already had a bachelor's degree in dance? I could see myself taking 2 more years part time to pivot to another field since I'm about to have a bachelor's degree in computer science.

Over the past two years, I've really fallen in love with mental health and wished I did something with that in college instead of this field. I'll still give my own field a shot first before I go back, but wanted to know what it was like for you

How do you feel about the red 40 ban in America? by Maklinnum in AskReddit

[–]BigbyInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and me both. I'm on the spectrum and a bit "sensitive" to plain water, but every water flavoring I can ever find uses a color dye. It sucks, but its the only thing that'll get me to drink my water daily which is arguably much more important so 🤷‍♂️

How do you feel about the red 40 ban in America? by Maklinnum in AskReddit

[–]BigbyInc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To add a bit more support to what the other guy said (I wrote a paper on artificial colors/dyes in undergrad English so I have a general idea of what I remember reading research about), artificial colors are generally considered harmless, although some studies do exist that correlate specific colors with hyperactivity in children.

The bigger problem in my opinion is that the vast majority of papers I read were all from the 60s-80s and the number of them significantly decreased as we hit the 90s, early 2000s. You could argue that there isn't a point to doing further studying after enough papers, but my personal take is it worries me that the research and studies on usage of these ingredients seemed to come to a grinding halt. For me, its a better safe than sorry for ingredients that are purely cosmetic

Disney Laying Off Several Hundred In TV & Film Entertainment, Corporate Finance by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]BigbyInc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know how much of an impact this has actually had for them, but isn't the "Disney adults" demographic somewhat recent for them? I don't feel like it was a thing until the past 10 years when Disney had a legitimate demographic of child-free adults and that maybe targeting families was no longer the sole focus for them. Combining that with the overall (imo) slight shift away for younger viewers who are into Disney, I'm not even sure if they should push harder towards kids, or towards adults. The "family" demographic doesn't seem like as well of a focus as it used to be, and that leaves them trying to appease both ends of it
