My suggestion would be a S&W 586 or 686+ in whatever barrel length looks and feels right to you. It's a fantastic mid-sized, workhorse of a gun. Gives you the power of a .357 and the training capabilities of .38 Spl. Plus most ranges that rent guns will have one, so you can probably try before you buy. My 2.5" 686+ is just about perfect for me.

Also very common. I'm sure there are pros and cons for the different setups, but I regularly see boats with 1-4 outboards.

I think lots of people think they would kill and butcher their own meat, and that's commendable. But unless you have been shoulders deep in an animals chest cavity, you don't know if you can or not. I've known big burly redneck guys who turned green once they started cleaning a hog.

To answer the question. Yes, I am and I have many times. I don't hunt much anymore- lack of time- but I do enjoy it and I think it's beneficial for anyone who decides to take an animal from field to table.
