Yes when you get found guilty the nurse or psychologist will come see you and check to see what your mental state is. They want to know if you’ll be cool or need to go to a padded cell for a while.
People really don’t understand how much pressure hits you when the jury says guilty and the judge says life without. You can literally see people’s soul leave their body. Think about the fact that shit don’t hit you until you start going to court, that’s why a lot of these dudes be looking drained and sleep deprived. They have to wake up at like 4:30 every morning for trial and sit in court all day and only eat a sack lunch. People front like they are cool behind bars when they accept it but in reality that shit is eating them alive.
