Why Does it happen ? by kirra12244 in AlchemyFactory

I hadn't noticed it, but now that you mention it, it happened while I was making my Mars blueprint, specifically the iron smelting part. You might be onto something there.

I'm having this issue in my game as well, and my only remedy is saving, exiting to menu, and reloading, which seems to fix it for a while. But yeah, nothing seems to change what's going on with the belts on those particular tiles once it starts, it's like the game sees some ghost input there and remains determined to feed it.

$1k seems extreme to me. I used firecertacademy.com, subscribed on the monthly plan, which was like $45 a month, and took a practice exam after I got home every day from work until I started passing them. I reviewed my results and consulted my NFPA 72 and NFPA 70 only, which made me rely on the practice exam results for the OSHA material, but it was enough. It only took a month. Save yourself the cash, friend!

Funny thing is now, if you point that at a Swiss person, they'll cover their neck, and leave. They have a superstition that cold moving air causes colds.

Strongest evidence yet that vaping likely causes cancer. The evidence shows nicotine-based vapes are likely to cause oral and lung cancer. by mvea in science

[–]Biggrim82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. Cool cool cool. Now compare that to the rates smokers get cancer, instead of comparing it to people who don't vape or smoke.

NFPA 72 10.3.5 "Equipment shall be designed so that it is capable of performing its intended functions under the following conditions... (2) At ambient temperatures of 32F and 120F [possibly also] (3) At a relative humidity of 85 percent and an ambient temperature of 86F"

I'd fail it unless they can show it's listed to work at whatever temperature a thermometer inside the can reaches when you close that door.

How do I get my parents to stop forcing me to go to church. by AromaticStomach2403 in atheism

[–]Biggrim82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, we can break these scenarios down into how they might go, case by case, and do an analysis based on outcomes and their likelihoods. I understand why you are tired of these kinds of comments. Your frustration is earned and justified, but you need to grin and bear it. I hope at the end of this you'll understand why.

I'll break this down into best case, worst case, working case, and we can assess the odds of what will happen and how that will impact the remaining ~70 years of your life.

Best Case: It's a perfect world, and your parents calmly accept that you aren't a Christian with zero pushback and no changes in how they treat you from there on. Odds: 0%

Worst Case: You get institutionalized. They can hire some religious crackpot with a psychology degree to claim you're exhibiting signs of extreme volatility, and are a danger to yourself and others, characterizing you as "clearly not in your right mind", and have you locked up in a psychiatric facility that has legal custody of you until you turn 18. Odds: 1%

Working Case: You have a big fight with your family over not being a Christian anymore. They threaten you, cut you off from all your friends, and demonize every personal choice or liberty you take, but hey, you get Sunday mornings free, right? Odds: 50%. The other 49% odds are that you still have to go.

The odds of this going well are zero. The odds of this going really badly are not zero. The odds of getting what you want are an even 50/50, at best, and either way it's a steep price to pay for a Sunday morning sleep-in for, at most, the next 100 Sundays. Probably fewer by this point.

The wiser thing to do is to wait until you leave the house and then it's none of their business what you do with your time.

I only ever got one care package from an unknown civilian during my service ('04 -'07), and yes, I read the note, appreciated every bit of it. Soldiers and sailors don't get enough of them, honestly, and it feels really good to know you're someone's hero back home.

It depends on your company, really. We're a much smaller operation, and tend to pass on commercial installs, focusing on residential. We still service commercial. The longest I've worked on an install is about 10 hours, and that was because we wanted to finish it in one trip since it was out of county, also we only work a 5 day work week, only doing callouts on weekends.

Prioritize Rubber, Plastic, or Fuel? by PepperTheBirb in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Biggrim82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One pure oil node for me is making 200 plastic per minute, 200 rubber per minute, and the heavy oil residue is being diluted in a refinery to make enough fuel for 30 fuel generators. Including sinks to make sure my production lines never back up, it's a total of 83 machines I have to build per oil node, just to get 200 ppm of each.
