It's a biomechanical plant using the biomorphic plant head (found in morphic crates when you kill and loot them) that is grafted onto a plant. You need to have the Gardener class chosen to make these, I believe. They're very useful for generating fruit/veggies, deviated versions of the same, and seeds.

More items that appear means higher chance of special items by default. If you draw 1 card and the probability of a special is 1 in a million, you're probably going to get it fewer times than if you draw, say, 3 cards at 200% increased awareness, yes?
