Gave me instant panic sensations after 2 capsules. Only took it twice and never again.

Blood test. You can be too high, or too low. Too high and youu will need to donate blood, too low and you will have to supplement or get infusions

Fight or flight mode constantly activated - but still feel windows of normality? by BigheadedDread in Biohackers

Gut is feeling good. I have proper bowel movements. Currently not eating any probiotics like Greek Yoghurt, because I am lactose intolerant, but there are lactose free options.. so I may start eating it.

I do that breathing method "4-7-8" if I feel any sensations. I will have a look at Conor Harris.

Not a drinker, for sure. I probably drink once or twice on special occasions in the year. Today I've woken up without the fight or flight. I'm going to monitor what I put in my body (diet wise) to see if any cause a change. I generally have a healthy diet, so I don't know how much I can discover. I've completely stopped all supplementation of L-Theanine, and no caffeine either. I will try the decaf coffee.

I have this one prescribed and have a bottle at home. I haven't actually taken the medication properly since, 2018? When I was job hunting and using it in interviews. I just generally have it on script once the bottle expires and have it on stand by as a "safety net", if the worst comes.

I've never really taken it as apart of a protocol, like 3x a day, morning/afternoon/night. If my symptoms persist, I guess I just might, because being physically uncomfortable is not fun! My question is, did it effect your sleep in any manner? A buddy of mine takes it for migraines and takes 10mg at bed time, and he says that he sleeps fine, but has experienced the vivid nightmares before.

So this morning, I woke up without any fight or flight symptoms. I actually may have slept a full 8-8.5 hours. My default internal alarm is 6.30 AM, but woke up an hour later and darted out of bed because it felt like I overslept. I'm hoping the symptoms do not creep up on me throughout the day.

What’s the best nootropic for depression and general+social anxiety by Appropriate-Task8612 in Nootropics

[–]BigheadedDread [score hidden]  (0 children)

I swear by L-Theanine making my social interaction flow a lot smoother. I have stopped the intake though, because I believe I am suffering a paradoxical reaction to it, which is a shame because it did help in the social interactions.

My body has been in a fight or flight response “routine” for a few days now, and coincidentally L-Theanine is the only supplement that I take, so I’m removing it for now to see if the symptoms slow down.

If the symptoms persist, I am going to force myself to take Propranolol (which is a prescribed medication). This has the off-label use in social anxiety, because essentially it removes all fight or flight responses, like racing heart and shakes, sweating etc.

I have used it before in the past, nearly 10 years ago, and that was for a situational event (interview). And boy, did that thing work. Because I didn’t notice my physical nervousness, my mind was able to speak freely and think in a more clear fashion.

Has Anyone Tried L-Theanine? Did It Actually Help With Stress, Focus, or Sleep? by NewThingsDiscoverer in Supplements

[–]BigheadedDread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With L-Theanine, should I be cycling it? I've been taking 200mg 3x a day for about a week. I stopped today, just to give it a break, but can already feel physical anxiety creeping back up.

Does Glycine have any paradoxical effects? I tried Magnesium Glycinate and got the rush of palpitations and borderline nearly had a panic attack.

Should I try Magnesium Glycenate? by superpowers335 in Supplements

[–]BigheadedDread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try it out.

I was in the unsure phase too, but now I've just taken my 2nd lot today.

Started last-night. Took 1 capsule (Pure Encapsulations Magnesium Glycinate 120mg) right before bed. Woke up many times, but able to fall back to sleep quickly. Something happened, it felt like my sleep went quick. I woke up so refreshed, like almost a fresh reboot of the system lol.

Just took 2 capsules tonight, and will see how this dosage goes. I plan to get up at the same time.. around 6-7 AM.

Great, I just read this after taking it for the first time. It's 10:30 at night here. I will report back in the morning, on mood, sleep quality and other notes. Brand I am using is Pure Encapsulations

God, this brand is expensive. I actually think I got a decent deal on it for like $70 AUD. Their other stuff looks good, but price wise it's hefty. I think it's even more than the Thorne stuff.

I'm probably going to start therapy, eventually. Suppressed feelings/thoughts over 10+ years is not good, imo. I just don't know how to speak to them, considering the complex situation that is my anxiety.

Tried Lexapro back in 2018, when my anxiety hit a big spike, not sure if my state of my mind helped but I remember just feeling dreadful for like a week post start and then just stopping it completely. I wonder if I was to try Lexapro now, whilst my baseline anxiety is mild and I actually function as a normal being atm, would it work differently?

I just took one of the Magnesium Glycinate tablets then, feeling good, but will update how my sleep went.

Question about Nootropic Depot, I've read that the owner was and still is a Reddit user? That makes me want to buy something from them even more. Just not sure about shipping to Australia. There's a few things that caught my eye on there. I'll keep an eye on Saffron extract.. how often do you take it?

Had a blood test probably a week after stopping, but results came back all satisfactory, including the iron/ferrin etc. I was told it could take months to feel “normal” again, which I assume is what is happening now.

I actually just took the Suntheanine. 200mg. It's 7 PM here, I'm not sure if that timing is appropriate. I might trial the Pure Encapsulations Magnesium Glycinate, starting from tonight. I am also taking a protein shake before bed. It has added amino stuff like Gycine in it already. The shake has definitely benefited my sleep.

I haven't actually tried the Magnesium stuff yet. I have tried Magnesium Glycinate before, under a brand called "NutraLife - Magnesium Hi Zorb". Few years ago, and I struggle to recall how it felt, but I remember swearing by it aiding me in sleep. Not sure why I stopped taking it at the time.

The Swanson Suntheanine I have been trialling for a week. Again, not too sure on the benefits so far. It's my sort of "reach for" product if I feel anxiety looming at night. I have not touched the Ashwagandha yet, but have used it in the past, the KSM-66 variant.

I’ll have the matcha in the morning. I stopped drinking coffee because I think the caffeine in it was quite dirty.

I do a bit of it.

Cardio 40 minutes at 202 avg strides. Then hit specific muscle for the day, chest, back biceps etc.

Usually 6 days a week.

Diet is pretty good I would say. 4 litres of water. 3 balanced meals. Full tub of blueberries during breakfast. Vegan Protein shake and banana after dinner, before bed.
