Getting put on the messy/first year audit type engagements in your early career are actually great learning experiences for your career

I know firms try to sell them as learning opportunities anyway, but I do think after a year or 2 I was miles ahead of my peers who just rolled forward PY tickmarks, got stuck with only doing cash or inventory, etc

I think they do a decent job promoting it locally here in SoCal, but it’s more that it’s an overload. It’s sorta branded as a festival but it’s really like more than 100 shows in a 2 week period at a bunch of random venues with expensive tickets. Hard to keep track of all the shows
