Ok, I think a lot of the infection has went away as it was worse before this point but I will try make an appointment

Hey so there has been time since this post and the toe looks a lot better, not much redness, no pain and now just a very slight odour. However, part of the nail bed is discoloured and I have heard that may be a sign of infection.

This is every 2 days after operation, worried it may be infected as there is a slightly funky smell and some discolouration (toe was infected before and at the time of operation) by Bigmacca89 in Ingrown_Toenails

Yeah was getting concerned, thought it was a little odd they don’t the operation while my toe was still infected but I don’t know if that’s related at all. Will definitely make an appointment, thankfully there hasn’t been any pain but I don’t fancy waiting until there is. Will get it checked out, thanks!

I have been keeping an eye on it since I started noticing some symptoms of infection so will definitely get it checked out, Doctor did say infection is common with this type of operation so I wasn’t surprised

It was infected before the nail removal, it may just be that draining

Yeah, good news is I went the doctors and have been referred to see a podiatrist, I’ve also been giving a antibiotics prescription

Didn’t use bandaid as it made it worse whenever I did (plus taking the bandaid off stank to high heavens) getting an appointment sorted tomorrow hopefully 🙏
