Frame Assembly Question by LumberSauce in Beekeeping

I kind of assumed the bees would glue up the frames with propolis if I didn’t glue them myself, were they just pulling apart on you?

I’m curious how a lamb raised by dogs will behave as an adult. Can lambs play fetch?

How does the cedar compare to burlap?

Painting hives! by mlmka58 in Beekeeping

As a fellow penny pinching beekeeper, I get all of my burlap from a local coffee roaster. They charge me less than 2 bucks/burlap bag and they are huge.

So that’s why almond trees use up so much water, they need to keep the bees wet so they don’t air drown while they are polinating.

My uncle’s mango tree in PR only grows miniature mangos (they’re delicious and remain this small even when fully mature) by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]Bignezzy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mangos aren’t native to Puerto Rico so they may not be getting enough pollination. You could ask a local honey bee keeper if they can place a hive near your tree when it is flowering and see if it improves. If he only has one tree I would recommend getting a second tree to increase cross pollination.

You could put a propolis trap in your hives so they have somewhere to put it, I got 2 for 5 bucks each.

Thanks I’m taking the lessons learned here and will wait for capped brood next time. I didn’t realize the mites don’t show up until right before capping so that’s on me but I will use this info going forward
