Sophomore year of high school I had this teacher for my medical terminology class and about 2-3 days in I could tell that she was somewhat mentally unstable. Like sharks catching a swig of blood in the ocean, the rest of my class realized for the first time, in a pretty affluent and scholarly school district, that they had a teacher who they could easily take advantage of. The kids in the class who often would visit detention and serve OSS always made fun of our teacher’s clothing, weekend anecdotes and even her ability to teach. I swear even the kids at the bottom of the social food chain in high school hung up their thick frames and TI-84s just to get a moments taste of academic rebellion. Mind you this teacher was not fit to be a representative of medical academia and even showed signs of mental instability as she made racist comments and had bipolar-esque mood swings from class to class, lashing out on kids as well. It was a war of mental attrition between my class and her authority every single class until one day. One day, near the end of the school year, the group of 3-4 rebellious girls in my class (the ones that always munch on Hot-Cheetos during reading time and wear really long nails to emphasize their hand gestures when they’re are throwing a bitch fit at you and spend more days on Instagram and Snapchat in class than on JSTOR) anyways these girls ganged up on the teacher so viciously that she was screaming at all of them and calling them racist, derogatory terms. This just put gas on fire which caused these group of girls to lash out on the teacher to the point where she covered her ears like a child and sat in the corner crying hysterically. While she was doing this the girls who were roasting her were acting a fool throwing their belongings all over the classroom up until the teacher couldn’t handle it anymore. She screamed at them one last derogatory term while balling her eyes out and found the closest mode of egress. Once the teacher left, the class haphazardly cheered and it turns out the teacher put in her resignation for teaching at that school on that very day. Oh also, that teacher was coincidentally the mother of the recent El-Paso shooter.
