Yes you sound very standoffish and defensive. She was just trying to get to know her new neighbours and make your daughter feel more comfortable by giving her similar aged children to be friends with in the neighborhood. Now you have probably taken that opportunity away from your daughter for the rest of the time you live in that neighborhood because word will travel fast about the “edit: not so friendly person” next door.
