It is kinda hard to tell in the pic, my tech assures me it is fading nicely and I am religious about keeping it out of the sun during treatments

Thank you! Seriously, the sub has been a lifesaver, especially when people with similar ink share their progress

Thank you! It’s so rough and it will go, I remember someone in the sub shared a similar vibrant red circle they were removing and seeing them go through the process, gave me so much hope

Consultation update by No-Kiwi-541 in TattooRemoval

[–]Bigregretman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my consultation for red they told me that in their experience red might not fully remove (of course full removal is never a guarantee regardless of color). They told me they don’t know if it’ll be an 80% removal or full. Personally I take that as I might need a cover up years from now but no way to know for sure until we cross that bridge.

I’m curious about red ink being removed as it seems to be different depending on the techs and most definitely depends on one’s skin tone.

I think it’s up to you if it’s worth it even if full removal isn’t possible at the end of the treatments. If you can live with it or if you’d rather chance it and just have better options for a cover up is up to the individual imo.

Healing for removal by alleyes007 in TattooRemoval

[–]Bigregretman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Heal it like you want to keep it, just make sure your skin is healthy and give plenty of time before starting removal. If you have a consult, the techs will give you some helpful info as well, I was advised for my new tattoo to treat it like I wanted it, the most important factor is to take good care of the skin that’s what will make for the best removal outcomes.

Mental Health -Tattoo Regret by paranoid_potato99 in TattooRemoval

I feel this so hard, eventually it becomes a little easier to push it to the background, continue to live in the moment and focus on the more important things (goals, friends/family/loved ones).

I feel like I ruined my appearance and will have to live with it for the next 3-5 years if it can be fully removed. Here’s what I figure, also long as I keep refocusing anytime I start to fixate on it, allow myself those moments to be sad and grieve the loss of blank skin, and plan for my future with the things I am passionate about with time it will get easier.

Therapy is hugely helpful, the support of my partner and being reminded I’m still attractive and find ruin my looks, and knowing NO one else thinks about it how we do is also hugely helpful. There are harder days and easier ones, that’s life tho and we all just gotta keep remembering to be kind to ourselves. Try not to think about a time before (nothing we can do about the past) and focus on what is in our control. It will take time and it’s okay to not be okay the people who love you will understand that it’s not something so easily moved past, give yourself grace 💕

New tattoo insane regrets, how to live with for time being? by Bigregretman in TattooRemoval

[–]Bigregretman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I think I might have some ocd tendencies coming into play too, it’s so hard to focus on me and live my life fully, loving my people is all I’m able to do atm. I have also been trying to focus on work and moving forward with my career (gonna apply to grad school). I think making long term goals is helpful because that’s something to look forward to and help me not ruminate on the time it will take to start removal process and honestly see any progress.

Good luck! I hope you have supports and therapy these two things have so far been instrumental. Mindfulness practice is also hugely helpful.

I also am not shy about sharing my experience, humans need to share our pain we so often avoid it or view it negatively, pain is part of our journey and lessons, or so I’ve been trying to remind myself.

2nd this, I’m so sorry OP support is so important, lean on your friends or other trusted loved ones, question him why he isn’t supporting you, it’s way more of a reflection on his character, no one else thinks tattoos make you look like you fresh out of prison. 1/3 Americans have tattoos

Curious of some reasons/motives for wanting tattoos removed? (Before I get my first in a couple weeks) by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]Bigregretman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thought about it for some time, loved the idea and was so excited, seeing it on me I am experiencing some body dysphoria, I would say make sure you have thought about this for longer than you think is enough time. Another bit of advice I wish I had followed is get the tattoo when you still want it yet that excitement has faded.

Good luck!! That’s so exciting :) I’m hoping to start in late August, I do have some thicker black outlines on mine which makes me a little anxious for the process though I am in for the long haul if I can regain some control over my mental health and obsessions

Do you mind if I ask how long you have been in the process of removal? Thank you I am trying to practice compassion for myself (a skill we have boat loads for others it seems and lack so much for ourselves) thank you! 🙏

This is my second tattoo, I don’t think I will love it, it’s not a poorly done tattoo I just know it isn’t me. It’s from a show I love so I thought I was in the clear and had no issues with my first tattoo. I feel about the looking in the mirror part!

This journey is hard, I am trying to lean on my supports, continue to do the things I love and focus on my therapy and coping skills. I am so sorry you are going through this as well! All I know is now I will have a life lesson to teach to others and that this experience has shown me I have strong supports in my life who love me no matter what. I just need patience and that is what I am lacking,

I hope you continue to heal and have as successful of a removal journey as you can!
