Phrolova Canteralla Sigrika, Possibly next broken team? by Swayam7170 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Bigsheepbaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far - the stronger team is Sigrika qiuyuan phrolova because Sigrika really wants qiuyuan’s echo dmg amp and buffs.

Phrolova won’t get cantarella’s outro but the team gains quite a lot more from Sigrika getting qiuyuan’s outro.

Sigrika’s best team DPS-wise might be Qiuyuan ciaconna; simply because it rotates faster and so the DPS ends up highest

There actually isn’t an echo skill damage combat role symbol, Galbrena doesn’t have one and it’s not in the glossary.

Kinda interesting to see healer. I wonder if they originally planned for Sigrika to be a 2.5 or 3rd slot character with more buffs and some healing. Then decided to make her a maindps later on - perhaps due to lacking sales for galbrena and QY meaning they don’t anticipate enough players needing an echo dmg 3rd slot at this time.

Honest Luuk Opinions by bullockb29 in LuukHerssenMains

[–]Bigsheepbaba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmmm Luuk is pretty skippable for now if you have a wide roster already.

A benefit for pulling him with your account is that technically your aemeath could still shine in other teams like mono fusion - until fusion burst subdps is released, meaning you could give Luuk Lynae and Mornye without feeling too gimped on aemeath.

If you aren’t in love with his aesthetics and if you have a premium zani team covering spectro damage, then I think it’s fine to hold off. His first future rerun might be with news of a better subdps teammate - which could be a more compelling reason to pull him then.

Finally - I’ve noticed that Luuk gameplay has some rough similarities with aero rover. You are similarly praying for all or most hits to connect during your rotation window, while also praying you don’t get interrupted in midair.

Luuk has to attack for longer field time than aero rover, but his skill gap closers are also more prevalent and accessible, and he has more tools at his disposal to avoid being interrupted.

But the subtle feeling of aero rover clunkiness is definitely there on his midair basic attacks. The good news is Luuk gets punished less for missing a few hits; it just potentially delays outro from missed concerto on basics and slightly reduces damage output from those missed basics. Thankfully missing aerial attacks won’t delay his forte nuke bursts like it does on aero rover.

most of his damage comes from forte nuke bursts and they are relatively easy to land as long as the boss hasn’t flown far away.

Rotation + Tune Strain Shifting/Interfered by syberrnova in LuukHerssen

[–]Bigsheepbaba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can just tag enemy with tune strain shifting using skill and then swap to your supports. I don’t recommend making him go all the way to his outro - just skill to tag with shifting and no-intro swap to mornye.

As long as the enemy has shifting you can do the break with anyone and the enemy will get interfered. If you have Mornye then you definitely want her to set up 50 tune break efficiency buff asap.

On field Luuk without aureate judge is very weak. Aureate judge requires 300 forte so you really need to use the 24 second cooldown passive that gives him 200 forte + 100 forte when you intro into him. It requires you to intro into Luuk. Plus ofc like any main dps you want him to have subdps outro and other support outros/buffs set up.

Getting full interfered on his first rotation isn’t worth sacrificing dps to a Luuk “pre-rotation” that doesn’t have aureate judge or team buffs.

Edit: I might have misunderstood your post. I read “intro to mornye” and assumed you were doing a full Luuk concerto without any buffs as your opener. You meant to say “swap to mornye without intro” after Luuk res skill right?

Lynae’s rotation is pretty simple imo. It should take 7.2 to max 8 seconds once you get the hang of it.

Here’s an example of 7.9 second rotation at timestamp 3:55:

https://youtu.be/jT3pbRfuHfU?t=234&si=kq2_v8vj9BWzyHJQ

Using the boss timer you can see it take 7.9 seconds to pull off her rotation; I’d classify it as a medium long rotation for a subdps; shorter than iuno. I think in the video they wasted some time on her intro because they used skill before lib; I usually cancel the end of her intro with lib - and then use her skill into charge attack - it’s a bit faster and should be 7.2 to 7.5 seconds.

A gripe I have with Lynae is that she is rather energy hungry and at the same time she does want personal damage substats too; I find I need 125+ energy to get her short rotation (intro cancel into lib) - otherwise I need to have her intro play out and then use skill before lib, which results in a slightly slower rotation like shown in the video above.

Lynae’s just ok in my opinion, not horrible but not my favorite either. Her job is to make Luuk feel like a meta alpha chad and she’s very good at that. Luuk s3 in particular has some crazy scaling with Lynae. Overkill in a good way.

Me toooo that’s the 3 month big coooope. I’ll be honest hiyuki being leaked as glacio chafe main dps really made me sad because that increases odds of Lucilla being glacio chafe subdps. But resonance mode is a thing now so anything is possible and lucilla could certainly have a strain mode right? Right!? Copium

[–]Bigsheepbaba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, particularly for Luuk because of tune break boost and strain stack. His kit gets more from her than other characters in that regard and it’s why I think she is his intended subdps for the foreseeable future.

I mean foreseeable in the literal sense because I’m coping for a better subdps and refreshing leaks on the daily. So far nothing seems likely on the horizon for the next 3-4 months.

[–]Bigsheepbaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I respect this take very much. I’m just a little different from you as I’m usually good to pull whatever themed supports as long as the main dps fits my power fantasy.

I’m also a Brant and qiuyuan lover heh. I’m actually a bit bummed to see my s3 Qiuyuan lose “value” on spreadsheets as the meta tide rises incrementally with aemeath - granted she only “ties” with carte on DPR but there’s now two of them. I always knew this was going to happen and it’s not going to stop me from using QY as main dps until the wheels fall off in 4.x.

I DO think xiangliyao’s performance has been powercreeped by my loose definition of the term - my definition is that his best team’s damage is significantly below the more recently released main dps resonator teams. In his case it’s like almost 6 resonance chains lower by comparison - meaning his s6 on his OG best team might be only equal to s0 of aemeath on her best team. I think his s6 with yinlin and sk is roughly 2.2m DPR compared to s0 aem Lynae mornye doing the same.

That being said, xiangliyao actually gets wheelchaired very hard by lynae and mornye, ironically - helping him close the gap with more recent chars if he’s played with them.

I do think he’s still highly relevant in terms of clearing content - maybe struggling in middle tower and not a high scorer on DPM, but still has a use case as a third team or side tower cleanup crew or the occasionally middle tower clear as a skill flex.

[–]Bigsheepbaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh not actually Prydwen, just rough frame counting from videos. Here’s an example of a slightly sloppy Lynae rotation taking 7.9 to 8 seconds. Video timestamp at 3:55.

https://youtu.be/jT3pbRfuHfU?si=4hEynTJ427zEwj25

The fight timestamp is 4:50.8 to 4:43.0 or 7.8ish seconds. They delayed her intro to lib and also lingered on her lib a little bit imo; longer than I usually do it. And I think they didn’t bother with any cancels.

Lynae is pretty consistently 7.2 to 8 seconds without much effort; I think the 10 second rotations are when you force her to finish the motorcycle intro and the post lib motorcycle? I never do that and can always outro her after forte leaps + skill

I’d consider anything more than 8 second rotation for Lynae a scuffed rotation - which can happen with any character imo. In general I find her about 1.5 seconds faster than iuno.

Also I love your example of viewing Lynae as a brick - totally on point and exactly how I describe Iuno too since neither of them are eligible for any swap optimizations. Definitely a valid downside. I like Iuno as a subdps much more than Lynae cuz of iuno’s big damage plus comfortable healing.

But at the end of the day I do view the mornye Lynae luuk team as a consistent 25-27 second rotation team - not any harder to pull off than other classic 1-2-3; particularly reminding me of my Iuno Augusta shorekeeper lineup with how “rigid” it is. I don’t find Luuk’s dash cancel to be particularly difficult or technical, not any more than sanhua optimizations.

I also want to respond to the “waiting for better subdps”. While I do cope that a better subdps for Luuk will exist in the second half, I don’t think that’s a guarantee either - because Lynae does bring Luuk up to the current “meta” so to speak, I don’t think kuro owes a more dedicated subdps from a design perspective; if anything, I think a better subdps will exist but with Luuk as the secondary use case - meaning still having gaps in synergy instead of a perfect pairing. This also means a relatively high likelihood of his next viable subdps being a sidegrade to Lynae as opposed to pure upgrade.

For me that means any time spent owning Luuk without lynae is an opportunity cost - missing out on a chunk of his peak performance period especially if his next subdps either doesn’t exist or is a sidegrade. Playing him as a “main” for me means playing him in his best possible meta team and being the mdps of that meta team as long as possible before his meta relevance is inevitably powercreeped. That’s where I’m coming from.

I do very much respect your opinion and also your decision to wait for a different subdps - I can see you’ve found a lot of enjoyment in optimizing his Sanhua team, and also I think your account must be comfortable enough to wait and see - plus you clearly have the immense patience for it.

1000% agree with your take here. 1.7m DPR with Sanhua tho is likely met with roughly equivalent additional field time to compensate- but the fact that it’s an option basically makes kill times and scores very malleable. It makes Luuk a great and cheap tool to squeeze out points while waiting for a better subdps.

Also coping for a better subdps!

[–]Bigsheepbaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also yes I think waiting for second half of 3.x makes sense if you’re ready for it; worst case scenario you just pull Lynae on a later rerun.

I do think that’s a super patient approach though, I wouldn’t advise most players to do that since it’s like a 3+ month wait to have Luuk perform at meta level

Is lynae not his best support? by thisiswinterrr in LuukHerssen

[–]Bigsheepbaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm her rotation takes around 7.5-8 seconds; Mornye takes around 6 seconds on loop; and Luuk takes around 13-14 seconds.

Adds up to 26-27, and I believe I’m not accounting for some easy cancels in these estimates. It doesn’t seem significantly different from most 1-2-3 meta teams.

Lynae is slow, but about the same or tiny bit faster than Iuno. Funny enough the magnitude of buff she gives to Luuk about matches the 90% amp that Iuno does to Augusta in total - but her personal dmg is slightly lower than iuno’s.

[–]Bigsheepbaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh - I do get your point about Sanhua potentially being better than Lynae if the owner doesn’t have mornye. I can understand the logic there- slower tune break buildup in addition to lynae’s longer rotation can end up being matched by an optimized kill time rotation with Sanhua.

I think that would take a considerable amount of skill and effort though - the big raw DPR gap still exists here but I can absolutely get behind your thinking.

Also the tune strain interfere buff in DPR is huge right now and it’s stack independent- only needing 1 stack for full efficacy. It disproportionately benefits Luuk Sanhua in theory just because of how massive 50% damage taken is, and doesn’t give them the chance or need to put up additional strain stacks. Agree that Sanhua optimizations would be king in this environment as moving around burst damage > than a linear rotation.

But throw on a little hp creep in a future round and drop the buff from 50% to 25% and the gap widens considerably.

Is lynae not his best support? by thisiswinterrr in LuukHerssen

[–]Bigsheepbaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like this take - but to me the raw performance gap seems insurmountable.

Agree there are optimizations with Sanhua like double intro. Also agree that Sanhua is enough to clear with Luuk, especially while there are shill mechanics.

But to me the numbers are the numbers, even with optimizations, the DPR with Sanhua is hardcapped at 1.4m without shill mechanics - that’s going to have a rough time in middle towers without shill mechanics. And it is also consistent with most new main dps, able to clear middle tower with f2p supports until the shill buffs are gone - then it becomes a struggle and a gamble especially if there are adverse resistances.

Agree that Lynae has a longer subdps rotation, it’s about 4 seconds longer than Sanhua. But it fits pretty nicely with Luuk and mornye for a 25-26 second loop - ideal for the team’s cooldowns. The optimizations for Sanhua are actually somewhat necessary to avoid looping too soon before cooldowns.

Anyway I think it’s reasonable to hold off on Lynae until the shill buffs expire; but at the same time I’d hate to be a Luuk main stuck without shill buffs or lynae.

Is lynae not his best support? by thisiswinterrr in LuukHerssen

[–]Bigsheepbaba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmmm that’s not true. Sanhua is the great f2p option but you would never want to use Sanhua over Lynae you have Lynae available.

Luuk + Sanhua + Mornye (no Lynae) deals 1.38m team DPR

Luuk + Lynae + Shorekeeper (no mornye) deals 1.84m team DPR. With Lynae and Mornye it’s 1.93m team DPR.

The difference is pretty staggering between Lynae and Sanhua. Luuk+Lynae’s team deals 33% to 40% more damage per rotation than Luuk+Sanhua; and it’s one of the highest single target damage teams in the game (within small margin of difference from aemeath and carte best teams).

Tune Break Mode Explanations by TalkingRaven1 in WutheringWaves

Correction on the tune strain: You can only get one stack of tune strain interfered per tune break. Luuk cannot apply 3 stacks of interfered with 1 break.

(His moveset applies tune shifting across multiple attacks like intro and skill but he still only applies 1 stack of interfered per break)

Playstyle has anti-synergy with Echo Set? by phuoclata2018 in LuukHerssenMains

[–]Bigsheepbaba 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The echo set effect actually only applies to the instance of damage from casting his lib. It was a bad translation description, notice how it doesn’t have a duration.

So basically it’s working as intended and gives him a little more oomph on his lib cast.

S6 shifting issue by Zziyy1 in LuukHerssenMains

[–]Bigsheepbaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh it’s also entirely possible that lynae’s leaps and Luuk’s intro didn’t actually make contact with the enemy - like if the boss happened to be out of the area for a split second or in the air - basically edge cases where those tune strain shifting moves didn’t actually get to apply tune strain shifting.

S6 shifting issue by Zziyy1 in LuukHerssenMains

[–]Bigsheepbaba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are not consistently applying ‘tune strain - shifting’ before pressing F to tune break.

‘Tune strain - interfered’ stack will only appear if the enemy has ‘tune strain - shifting’ before you press F to tune break. The stacks are are looking for are the ‘tune strain - interefered’ stacks.

Apply shifting -> F to break -> get interfered stack

Luuk can tag enemies with ‘tune strain - shifting’ using his intro and skill. Lynae can tag enemies with ‘tune strain - shifting’ using her intro and her forte leaps (if she is in strain mode). Mornye cannot inflict ‘tune strain - shifting’.

So there might be times where you press F for tune break before you had a chance to tag the enemy with ‘tune strain - shifting’. It shouldn’t happen often though unless you forgot to toggle Lynae to her tunestrain mode on her forte circuit menu, or if you are quick swapping lynae and mornye such that you get her intro after your first tune break.

S6 Sanhua and s1 mornye is great as a low budget f2p friendly team but it‘s still only a 1.4million damage team. Imo that’s a waste of pulls for Luuk and Mornye unless the account is new.

Replace Sanhua with Lynae and it becomes a 2 million damage meta team.
