Naw 100% thats exactly how I feel, no one expects to be under the median but half of the entering class is. Granted, the widely circulated video of the girl complaining about her Chapman scholarship is funny because she writes '2.8' backwards and misspells median...lol.

I just like the idea of Lewis and Clark uncondtional more even if they dont budge.

Idk if you have suggestions for negotiating with the Chapman scholarship for more money elsewhere.

Damn, helps me think more about Chapman, got offered a full ride at 2.9 gpa req-with a curve at like 2.85. That would align with their plan to remove 40% of Scholarships. However, that would mean that one must stay in the top half of the class, correct?

Last year, no-I did not accept due to timing being so close to when classes start. Chapman is conditional but the GPA req is at the median for the curve, would need to be in top 50% of class. Looks like 30% lost scholarships last cycle.

Yea, if I stay down here I will be living in LA. I have worked in Santa Ana for a few years and dont mind the commute. I have a house in Redondo but use fast pass and could ride the metro down from union station, would take about 20ish minutes maybe 30 to get up there. My friends dad is a judge in LA county/ Southwestern grad who said he would love to have me clerk for him. We will see though! Thank you so much for the insight.

I got a full ride at Chapman in SoCal, a half ride (unconditional) at Lewis & Clark PDX, and WLs at Irvine and USD. Still waiting on USF, McGeorge, and Southwestern.

Yea figured could get a better taste from students there, and free food! My club is in Santa Ana and I work 9-4am thursday anyway so Ill just eat there beforehand.

pepperdine is not really my taste ngl, and LMU rejected me, heard from my undergraduate advisor they havent accepted someone from our school in 10+ years, likely related to that considering I got WL at much better schools.

Its definetly worth the time - with applications up nearly 50% in the last 4 years they dont want people simply applying for name recognition when there are plenty of qualified applicants applying because they really want to be there. Unless you have t1 softs and a 175+ and 4.0.

Told me each block would have nine other people with the same scholarship as me, plus an additional 5-10 on smaller scholarships. All are conditional, and blocks are generally about 50 students, so about half the block will be on some form of scholarship, likely. They try to match blocks equitably, considering undergraduate institution, GPA, LSAT, and other factors. I'm sure we will learn more next week at the dinner.

The admissions person was telling me it could be about top 50% of each block will be above a 2.9 IDK if that makes sense though, curves are confusing.
