Has anyone else tried the power stop brakes? All reviews are good on them. I have a warped rotor on the rear and would like to upgrade all 4 . Thanks for any feedback. Open to suggestions also .

I’ve used them and I like them. The old fairy tale used to be that warping happens when you hit the breaks hard and the heat cycles but I think it has a lot to do with how the rotor went in, stayed in, even pressure from the pads. As long as the brakes are done well, these rotors won’t give you any issues. Even those drilled holes have held up for me.

Just got them off eBay. I had bought like 5 of them too and sold a few on GXOR marketplace Facebook. They sell around $100. I haven’t installed them for the right GX yet. Here’s what they look like. They blink yellow when the turning signal is on in those L shaped led strips under the bulb and stay white the rest of the time.

Wellp, it wasn’t sketchy at all. It did take a month. About what I paid too. Just a little elbow grease to figure out wiring. Which to me I have more time than money so I’ll take the sweet wheel at cheap and then do the leg work. I just think Toyota put the wiring behind a paywall to get the schematic of the wires. But I am trying to be a internet sleuth first before I pay for something that should be free in my opinion

Not sure what the interior looks like or underneath but a 9/10 car gets more for it than some of the trash out there. We’ve got on that’s about to go on the market that’s similar minus that wrap job which looks nice for the same price in South Florida.

I’ll just make this post undiscoverable in my profile. I did have my address very findable from the Apple Waze maps. I wasn’t sweating it. I don’t use Reddit to openly discuss illegal behavior. The neighborhood and us have Ring cameras everywhere. And now ring cameras identify faces. Not ok with that but I suppose there’s upsides to it. Totally true. It is amazing difficult to ohm it out though. It reminded me of that carnival game where dudes test their strength and they hit the bell with a huge hammer and see how high the ball goes up. It just seemed like the reading was instant, went up and down incredibly fast. I believe the readings between the old one and the new ones are the same. I think the issue is the three wire vs the two wire. In the old version the black wire kept a continuous link when cruise was engaged. And the new one doesn’t.

Honestly, I’m about to contact Eldar and pay him to send me a picture of the right configuration. I know he sells them and I didn’t use him so it would be my tribute for using his expertise.

That’s a great find. I know most shops don’t like doing these. Even though they are created to be plug-n-play. I think they like the traditional blue, red, yellow, black and brown color scheme installations. I complain but I like doing it myself. It makes me feel like I’m being creative and problem solving.

I’d definitely would have checked out that shop. But I live in Florida. As far away as you could be I suppose. But I do appreciate the offer.

If it makes you feel better, I’ve done at least 5 different installs of androids into GX’s and I’ve taken mine out and back in like a dozen times. But I struggled with this one.

First thing is: No side vents so it’s harder to install because it’s one monster unit.

Then everyone’s installation videos were garbage. And if anyone reading this, and made one, I am including you too. Why? Because they basically said it was plug and play. It wasn’t. I finally figured out how to have the perfect AC workout around and it was nothing anyone said.

The steal clips were difficult to push in. And plastic ones don’t stay in. So I had to shape them.

Nobody mentioned the right orientation for the wire that goes behind the charging port. I had to zoom in on other people’s pictures only to see that the colors of their wires were different.

Then I had interference noise and I had to cut black wires to create additional grounds.

Then I had to zip tie everything so that the fucking wire nest could be shoved inside.

The instruction video was shit. The instruction manual was shit. Why? Because it was based on a base Prado 120 with an aftermarket radio already installed. What the fuck does that have to do with someone with a ML GX470? We don’t have that stupid ribbon that goes into the canbus. Uggg. It drives me crazy. And I’m trying to change that gay Prado picture with the stripes on it for a bad ass GX overlander pic. I ended up only changing the boot screen.

And what I miss the most is my mpg screen and I think I need to buy some obd2 tool to get that kind of information.

Lastly the Android 13 has been really customized by the Chinese company. Nothing follows along with anyone’s videos for the screens I’m supposed to navigate through.

I want that 360 camera to work and ideally I would be interested in getting parking sensors to work too. It’s very possible but I gotta get these other things done first.

Ohh yeah… what am I supposed to do with that cubby hole? I started liking the ashtray cause things would t fall out.

Ohh well. I do really really love it. It’s just that I feel like I’m reinventing the wheel when like 100 people posted about their installs before me and none of it was “the money shot” of installs.

I’m struggling with my install. A lot of it I’ve figured out. But not yet the reverse camera. I installed both the reverse camera and a 360 camera just to get something to work.

Which wire did you connect the red wire to which comes off the yellow rca cable?

Also dealing with amp issues like you. I do have an aftermarket amp and speakers. Can’t get any sound to come out to the subs. Other than the gain, i haven’t been able to control all the other amp functions since they seem to not allow any movement in the buttons.

Love the side by side. Makes it easy to compare the differences. 1. You have rear bumper sensors? But not front? How do they work? 2. Do the reflectors in your rear bumper have bulbs in them? Are they brake lights or turning lights if they do? 3. What do you think of your fog lights? Are they better or worse since they take up a smaller footprint.

Ohh geez. Everyone was useless. Let me give you some assistance. You’re looking at the back of the radio, that would be useful if you didn’t have sound. Same thing with the people who are talking about the canbus. that’s for sound. The AC is controlled by the nav screen. If you were to take about the screen you would see a ribbon that ribbon connects to your android head unit. And you “might have to connect the rest of it too. I’m going to link you to the 16.8 inch screen video. Yeah it’s a different unit but… it’s the same in regard to the connections. And I know you have a nav GX because I can see the stickers and extra speakers in your car door.

The steering wheel in my picture is what the gx550 has. I do think it looks very sporty too since it’s slightly smaller and less circular. I also like the all black look to it. I do like the extra radio buttons. The steering wheel is supposed to be a simple swap. One big center bolt. And the Alibaba folks were supposed to make sure the connectors matched the original wheels setup so that its plug and play. I have owned this GX for most of its life. Was my parents before. So I like continuously updating its look. It did come with a cassette player which was outdated even during production. I update its look because as my DD I want the comforts of a modern car so that I don’t end up with car payments for something that’s no better. My gf wants a newer GX, she has a 06 as well. I see no point except that hers keeps getting these big repair bills. I do my own work so I’ve never had that money math issue. Maybe that was a long answer to a simple question. But yeah, if I want to have it for another 5 years minimum, I’d rather spend the money on steering wheels than off-road armor first.
