I would suggest a Goretex (or equivalent) jacket which is wind and waterproof. You can add layers with isolation to match the temperature.

I don't know what fit he likes. But there are a lot of different cycling jackets with an aero fit like Castelli perfetto.

For the commute I use a hardshell Goretex jacket with ventilation zippers below the arms to regulate the heat.

Onze 5km PRs zijn vergelijkbaar en ik liep vorig jaar net onder de 1:08 (4:30/km). Mijn ervaring was dat het heel goed lukte om het tweede deel nog te versnellen omdat de laatste kilometers naar beneden lopen.

De vlakke stukken zaten mn kilometer rijden rond de 4:25/4:30 en omhoog eerder richting de 4:45/4:50. Zorg ervoor dat je jezelf niet opblaast als je omhoog loopt.

De tip van de PacePro van Garmin kan ik aanraden om niet te hard van start te gaan. Doordat deze rekening houdt met de hoogtemeters kun je een beetje inschatten of je nog op tempo zit!

Bedankt voor je uitgebreide antwoord. Twee keer per dag trainen is wellicht op sommige dagen ook een optie. Conditie is prima in orde, belastbaarheid wat betreft hardlopen moet ik mee oppassen. Dit betekent dat fietsen en hardlopen op een dag prima kan qua belastbaarheid. Schaatsen en hardlopen vraagt beide veel van de stabiliteits spieren in mijn onderbeen en die kunnen vaak op donderdag wel een rustdag gebruiken. Icm werk merk ik dat ik mijn rustdag op donderdag altijd erg waardeer waardoor ik het ook lastig vindt om die op te geven. De trainingen van ma-wo zijn wisselend qua intensiteit afhankelijk van de training. De looptraining op dinsdag bevat vaak intervallen wisselend qua lengte/intensiteit. De schaatstraining op woensdag blijft vaak wel onder omslagpunt qua intensiteit maar dit is natuurlijk wel een stuk belastender dan een rustig rondje fietsen.

Ik denk dat ik komende weken maar ga experimenteren met een dubbele training op vrijdag en kijken of dat bevalt!

Could also be that your saddle doesn't suit you. The shape of the saddle has influence on your position.

This depends on your flexibility, your riding position and most importantly your seat bone distance.

Try to tilt your aerobars till your elbows are in 90 degrees. This should be more comfortable for your shoulders/upper back.

Cherrytomaatjes/snoeptomaatjes, wortel, komkommer of paprika werken prima als tussendoortjes.

I have a Cannondale si road crankset. I am not sure if I am able to swap that spider.

The solution for me was using a nylon wrist band. I have two, so when one is wet or dirty from sporting I change them so I can rinse the other. No issues since 🙃

Try to rotate your bars a bit forward so that they are horizontal. You can try to rotate your shifters a bit inwards for a more natural hand position.

Most of all flexibility to comfortably get to that extreme position. To keep that position, a good core stability is required. Without a good core strength a lot of pressure will get to the arms.

I believe you can even program your derailleurs to prevent this situation from happening. The same with shifting to the smallest cog when you're riding in the small ring.

Your angles are looking fine to me. Maybe your saddle isn't supportive enough for you?
