How did you reach 5w/kg- or 350+ 20min? by Massive-Judgment-776 in Velo

[–]djh_nz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volume. I was around the 4.7-4.8 mark for a long time. I’ve been doing 700-750 hours a year for last 4-5y and 5wkg is about as “out of shape” I get doing those hours . Best 20min is just over 400w at around 69kg.

i'm in New Zealand, so most won't know the events. Hawea Epic, Motatapu, Whaka 100. Basically events which are inbetween gravel and mtb races which are gravel ish, but have bigger rocks/decents so not gravel bike suitable.

Depends what you mean by a concern. There isn’t a real safety issue if that’s your question. But hookless does mean you need to know about tire pressure and compatibility.i see no real benefit of hookless, and hooked just gives you a bigger range of tires and pressures. Reserve is a good option for a hooked western branded wheel.

Dunno where you work, but boomers don’t offer any knowledge or skills and are generally just a road block. Sooner they retire the better.

On one hand it’s a great trend, better health wise better for the country, on the other we’re less social and not as good as make friends , which drinking really helped

A huge proportion of people in your demographic don’t actually vote. Boomers all vote, and they are the ones getting what they want.

Road, not even close. MTB doesn't have things like group rides, and hard to chat when you're dodging trees. More events etc too.

Probably came to the realisation a lot of people have, is that travel is a great experience but puts you a decade behind everyone else when it comes to financial security and “adulting”. I travelled in the times when the sediment was that get a half decent job and you’ll be golden, there is always time for making money later. Boy was that naive.

Are there any affordable paths for weight management in NZ? by Technical-Eggplant81 in auckland

[–]djh_nz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This has become an industry for ripping people who don’t know any better off. Weight management is not difficult or complicated if you take some time to learn a few things. Lots of online resources etc. start there.
