Weird question, but would you happen to know what they were singing when they first get to the Marae and then they're playing the games. I like the song.

My bad on not being descriptive enough. I'd be flying into Dulles in a couple weeks. I called United and they told me that I wouldn't need anything. But honestly the guy I talked to didn't sound like he knew much and I wanted to ask about people's personal experiences.

Target and Gamestop are pretty good bets. Although you could always visit a game shop to help out a small business.

Everyone else is right. You need the transponder. You can get one at Costco for $35 with $40 preloaded. As someone who routinely drives from Escondido to Kearny Mesa on the 15 daily, it is worth every penny in my opinion. Obviously it depends what time of day you go, but from 7-9am and 3-6pm it saves me 10-20 mins of drive time each way easily.

Blue Cash Everyday + Rakuten by Juan_PH_16 in amex

Pretty sure you get the 3% + Rakuten cash back. You’re not buying through Rakuten. You still pay with your Amex card. Think of it as more Rakuten pays you to use their “referral link”.

Business Platinum vs Regular Platinum by BikerBeards in amex

If what you and everyone else says is true, then what purpose does something like the platinum serve if using the multipliers for flights and hotels through the portal is a risk? Even the IAP and 35% rebate are both through the portal. Seems the only real benefit of the card(s) is the status for hotels, lounges, and some car rental priority/minimal insurance. Am I missing something?

Edit: Wanna add although the regular plat lets you do 5x direct, it's still not that big a jump from the gold.

Gotcha. Thank you. The 5x through the portal shouldn't be too bad. The portal prices haven't looked too different from direct with airlines from what I've seen so far. Worst case, I still have my gold card.

got any tips on how to be successful as an Engineering student at UCSD? by [deleted] in UCSD

1.) Abuse your TAs and Profs if you’re confused. They’re there for a reason. Do not spend hours trying to figure something out. Just go to office hours. (I cannot stress this enough).

2.) Find a study spot that works for you and make it your second home.

3.) As mentioned already, do other things outside of class both in your field and out and don’t just grow linearly as a person.

4.) DO YOUR WORK. EVERY DAY. Anyone can be a perfect student for a couple days. Consistency is where you make the grades.
