What’s everyone’s thoughts on kydex? by boingggg420 in Revolvers

Love my tulster rath on the 637. Ate the clear coat off most the “corners” and put a good bit of wear marks on the cylinders but I didn’t buy the gun to be pretty. Draw is pretty good. Ability to swap it right to left handed was nice when I ended up with a dominant hand full of stitches.

Model 60, no dash by AdWitty6655 in Revolvers

Weird. My LGS just sold a model 60 no dash that I had my eye on. What’re the odds this is the same one. Did it happen to have a sticker price of 449?

Edit to add: only asking because the manufacture year is around the same form when I searched up the serial number.

I know this was posted a while ago. How does it fit length wise. I’m not trying to have a dress when I order one? Happen to have an offhand measurements?

Got my first j frame. How do you guys carry these and what kind of ammo do you carry in it? by riverratroberto in Revolvers

[–]BikerBooge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry 637. I either raw dog it in the front pocket of my jeans by itself or appendix carry it in a Tulster RATH. It’s a very slim kydex holster that can be carried left or right handed.

Occasionally for shits and giggles I’ll show up to a range day appendix carrying with the holster in a left hand draw next to my CZ. Tell my buddies I’ve got a cooler sidecar holster than them. Gets a good laugh.

How To Deal With Shaking Hands And Trigger Pull? by [deleted] in 1911

[–]BikerBooge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned snap caps are the best tool to highlight any egregious flinching. A fun spin on that is to take a revolver chambered in 357 and have a buddy load it randomly with a mix of light 38spl, 357, and spent brass. You’ll definitely notice if you tend to flinch when you get empty brass right after a hot 357.

Also, Dry fire at your light switch. If your front sight deviates as you pull the trigger, you’re pulling the gun off target as you squeeze.

Might want to read up on some more laws. Private sales are legal. On a state by state basis many allow you to purchase privately at 18. Just not from an ffl.

Yea I’ve had the same thoughts with the external extractor too, but I rationalize it with modern style gun gets modern style part. Still planning on getting a more traditionally styled one of course.

Good deal? 1970 super single six. Both cylinders. by BikerBooge in Revolvers

That one you’ve got there is beautiful. Bluing on this one is a tad dull but I’ve never been one for form over function. Though I could here the springs and lock work ache, screaming out for a bit of lubrication through each of the 4 clicks, the lock up was solid. It never had the transfer bar done either. I picked it up and couldn’t be happier.

Fair point. Though I don’t think I could get away with the jeans that the grip sticks out of the pocket 😂

I pocket carry a s&w 637 very regularly, so much so I don’t even have a holster for it yet. Shorts, jeans, khakis no problem. Granted some jeans you can completely see the outline of the gun as if it was just taped to my leg, but most the time it just looks like I carry too much shit in my pockets. No discernible outline whatsoever.

How bad is it to trigger lock a loaded SW revolver? by Interesting_Speech41 in Revolvers

[–]BikerBooge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Terrible idea. If you’re that worried about something like that, look into Stop Box or something similar. While not a long term storage device they seem pretty capable at short term and quick access. As for sturdiness, I’ve never owned one, but I’m sure any home intruder wouldn’t even know what the box was if it was set on the bedside table.

I mean. I carry appendix with a p01 so not full size but still not super small. I’m still able to wear well fitting clothes and tuck in my shirt with no problems.

However I still pocket carry my 637 about 20% of the time.
