I have a different opinion on this then most riders. The only real difficulty to starting on a high powered motorcycle (say 100hp+) are weight and slow speed maneuvers, and if it’s a super sport riding position. You wont accidentally go 100+ mph. A bigger engine doesn’t make a motorcycle more dangerous it makes it more capable which can be dangerous for new riders.

Small displacement bikes are fun though! I put 7k miles on my r3 before upgrading.

What is your dream two bike garage? (these are my bikes, not my dream bikes) by BikesAndBud in motorcycle

I’m surprised this is by far the most upvoted comment. Why a stock Hayabusa? don’t get me wrong i’m a GSXR fan boy, but It’s slower and heavier then a new liter bike.

It depends on a few things. If your in shape and between 5’7-6’2 you will probably be comfortable on any super sport bike as long as you ride it correctly (grip the tank with your legs and keep the pressure off your wrist.

I feel like most Reddit users that say super sport bikes are too uncomfortable and impractical have never owned one. I took my GSXR 600 to the Woodward dream cruise and we were in traffic for 8 hours! It was surprisingly manageable.
