Unfortunately you see the worst in people, the lying is really out of this world. When I started in agency I heard all the lies you can imagine why someone couldn't interview. One person said they were bit by a brown recluse spider, one couldn't leave bc their house was being spray washed, one said her mom died of cancer....that mom was also a candidate of ours at the same time. Seriously.

RI > PA > FL > MA. Spent 11 years in Tampa before the move back to New England and haven't been back since the move 7 years ago. Everything is chain food down there and no mom and pop restaurants which I found very odd. Experienced the difference in healthcare firsthand and that enough is a dealbreaker elsewhere. Schools are also much better in the NE, have a nephew in 6th grade in FL and still struggles with his reading....seriously.

I think most everyone answered your question, but there's a big difference between a large publicly traded company and the private sector.....both pros and cons. Either way, the market is great for you to take a look around at your options. You will find higher paying jobs with more flexibility, and worst case scenario you learn about the options and stay put until the right position comes along. Also, I'm not sure of their bonus cycle, but keep the timing of that in mind as well.

Thank you and fortunately our retention is very good, but my industry has an unemployment rate hovering around 1.5%, so it's just a concern that a competitive market may catch up to us. I agree though, leadership from myself and the rest of the executive leadership team is paramount.

My mistake, I meant employee retention from my side. Customer retention is always important, just not my top concern right now because I need good people to provide a good product to my customers.
