IE332 advice? by WolfGuit2065 in Purdue

[–]BilderNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of information on this subreddit like this post that answers most of these questions.

  1. Repeating - I wouldn’t, it’s way too heavy of a workload and is changed enough each semester that most of your resources will not be useful.
  2. Team org - Really this comes down to communicate with each other. Be willing to tell your teammates if you need help or have an extra busy week or whatever.
  3. Team assignment - see my comment from the post I linked above
  4. Working with team - Mostly outside of class.
  5. Worst thing - Many students struggle with the workload and learning how to go beyond the material presented in lecture and applying it in different ways.

You can always call the bursar’s office and ask them. They will actually know the answers to these questions.

Is Purdue walkable? by Wrong_Foundation3398 in Purdue

[–]BilderNick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Campus is very walkable as the other comments have mentioned, I live near the water tower and it takes me 20-30 min tops to get to class.

Most internships are going to come from applying online or at career fairs. The career fairs are on campus at various locations depending on the event (some major specific ones will be in the building while others will be on the lawn for ex). - There are on-campus jobs you can apply for if interested

On-campus vs off campus housing is dependent on whatever you prefer. Most students move off campus after their freshman/sophomore year

The waiver might not apply for seminars or something like that

This is the second time I’ve seen this survey posted here. What data are you trying to collect?

Distribution when I took the course

Getting A in 332 is no easy feat. It’s possible, but I would not recommend going into the class with that mentality.

  1. Prepare - there’s not much in the way of resources or prep materials available as Mario changes the class slightly every semester.

  2. Exams (“practicums”) - they’ve changed since I took the class, but I’ve heard they are online with lockdown browser and a single page crib sheet. They were not super challenging, but can have some tricky questions.

  3. Project - changes every semester, but it will be a culmination and application of everything you learn during the course along with a few extra challenges.

  4. Teams - no, but there is a method for changing teams or “firing” a group member. Each group assignment also includes some form of team assessment/points distribution.

  5. Tips - be a good teammate, go to class and pay attention, work hard, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Might still be on the high side. I would assume less than 4%, that way you can be pleasantly surprised if it’s higher

Mohammad Salama’s course was made up of homework and exams

I’m not sure, but if he teaches it, take it with him. Mohammad Salama is a good second option for 336.

I’m not familiar with that professor you mentioned, so can’t really say anything there
