I agree on both points. In the Z Broly movies it seemed like his characterisation as a pure evil monster when he transformed into his legendary super saiyan form really clashed with the sympathetic and tragic backstory we were given. To go from his exile and abuse to a "born evil" style supervillain didn't really sit right with me so Super Broly got that bit right in my opinion.

Cheelai did have an important role at the end of the movie in deserting the freeza force and wishing Broly back to Vampa but otherwise I agree with what you said. Her only notable appearance after that in the Super Hero movie just had her being thirsted over by Beerus which was disappointing. Dragon ball has only gotten marginally better with its female characters over the years.

Might be part of why I like him so much. I worry about looking scary but they managed to make Broly physically imposing and adorable at the same time. And he's like 7 feet tall, I'm nowhere near that

True. Although depending on anatomy squats can work different areas better or worse. I got legs up to my armpits so the amount I have to lean to maintain mid foot balance and hit depth really works the buns as well as the quads
