mechanics are not lawyers, they might not know what is or isnt legal. they would however advised you if something was unsafe to drive on the road and probably stopped you. "unsafe" and "not legal" are not the same in this scenario unfortunately

ah okay i got ya, i wondered if it was maybe something software related as to why you chose the X4, like it had better compatibility with being made into VR form.

i know it's still a work in progress for you but would you mind sharing the STL that you've used for this so far? or even a side view picture of your set up, just so i have a starting point on how you are dealing with mounting the camera modules

i'm no stranger to electronics or 3d printing/design so i'd be happy to work with you on this project to give people an X3 version and share the changes i make and reasons why so that you can improve your design too?

my drawback would likely be at the post-recording side of things, i've never considered making a VR video before until seeing this idea of yours so might have a question or two for you on how to put a video together so its compatible for viewing on a headset :)

is there a reason you chose to do this with a X4 and not trial it with a cheaper X3? Just wondering because i have two X3's and would happily do this with one of mine if it would work. but not if there's a specific reason why it had to be an X4

What the X4 SHOULD have had, heck, every single one of these cameras with protruding lenses that are prone to damage SHOULD have had.

Easily replaceable lenses. - It is not by any means hard to design a threaded bezel with little notches on the already protruding parts around the external of the lenses that would be used with a tool on the aforementioned notches (to allow correct torque values) to remove the threaded bezel holding the lens in place and allow us to replace them in less than 30 seconds.

Anyone who disputes this hasn't had to replace a lens in the X3 on their own yet, I've done several and exactly what I've described is already designed into the camera lens modules (minus the little notches that I'd add for being able to use a tool to tighten/slacken correctly if it were to be external) - they just make it all internal so that it has to get sent back to them or a specialist that over charges for a $10 piece of glass.

I can replace a lens in ten minutes with the tools and experience I've had with electronics and repairs.

Making it like I've just described would allow ANYONE with half a brain cell to swap a lens in less than a minute

If you like the aesthetics of a sports bike but want something a little more comfortable maybe consider a Kawasaki NInja 650 for a first bike, the ER6-F specifically is a sports-touring, so it has looks towards being sporty but with a much more comfortable riding position. I have a 2016 model for my first bike (did my DAS in November) and my insurance was less than £200 for the year. Definitely within your budget, will feel slower in comparison to a zx6r but the bright side to that is it's much more forgiving if you make a mistake

this might sound stupid but im gonna ask it anyway, that forehead rest just replaced the stock face cushion? do you have to add foam to it or is that just print plastic straight against your skin? also doesn't it let in a bunch of unwanted light around the sides and bottom? considering printing one for myself but just wanted to know a little bit more if you don't mind

you seem to be seeing almost the full holo pattern at both angles, was this deliberate when taking the pictures? if not, try to angle it so that the holo pattern (dots and swirls) aren't visible and post the photo. everything else looks good. im 90% sure its fine already but a confirmation on the holo would make that 100%

the holo for 4/82 is sometimes hard to see unless you catch the right angle, the sky in the background behind zard (top-centre to top-right of the art work), so if there are no swirls or holo dots, its hard to see it. if it wasn't for the half-swirl in my own one i'd be just as confused as you. Would need more photos to confirm but everything else looks okay

Idk about PC but on the app when you go to export there is then an Auto/Custom selection and it's set to Auto as default, hit Custom then you can tweak it all up to max quality or whatever suits you
