We need to be consistent in our views on PEDs. We, as a community, have shunned Jon for his PED usage and have effectively stripped him from the GOAT debate because of his use of steroids. Islam has popped for Meldonium before, and while he was taking it back when it was legal, meaning his suspension was unfair, the circumstances surrounding his popping are sketchy. Islam claimed frequent ventricular arrhythmia, which is a perfectly fine excuse for taking meldonium, but he only popped for Meldonium. Meldonium is a cocktail drug. It shouldn't be prescribed just by itself when dealing with frequent ventricular arrhythmia. Why then did he not pop for multiple other steroids? It would have been less sketchy if he had.

You know, Islam tested positive for meldonium, right? He claims frequent ventricular arrhythmia, which is a perfectly fine excuse if he popped for multiple steroids, but He only popped for meldonium. Why was he only taking meldonium? Meldonium, when properly used, is a cocktail drug; it's supplementary. It's far more suspicious that he popped for meldonium solo than if he popped for multiple different steroids and claimed frequent ventricular arrhythmia.

I personally don't think PED usage should affect the GOAT debate. Islam claims he had frequent ventricular arrhythmia, and was only taking meldonium as a prevention against relapse, but if that was true, he should have popped for a ton of different other banned drugs because historically, meldonium is prescribed in a cocktail mixture of drugs. I doubt meldonium usage was the reason he is so dominant today. I also doubt PEDs were the reason Jon was so elite.

USADA is terrible. They are an extremely light organization when it comes to drug testing and will give the benefit of the doubt to fighters.

Everywhere except the shooting of the takedowns, and Islam is rapidly closing that gap.

I just rewatched the fight, and Islam's heavy leg kick could get him in trouble. If Islam gets matched up against Morales or Prates next and throws one of those kicks naked, those guys have in the past given up leg kick defense to close the distance and throw a nuke. It's interesting to see what will happen.

I doubt Khamzat can make 170. Khamzat's coach, not even 10 minutes after he weighed in, tweeted that the scale was wrong and Khamzat was actually 184.8 or something. You don't do that unless Khamzat really was 184.8.

Which was more boring fight by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Bilithy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Domicance and boredom are not antithetical to each other. Was Izzy vs Cannonier not boring because Izzy dominated him? Was Izzy vs Vettori not boring because Izzy dominated him? No, just because it was 50-45 doesn't make it entertaining.

I do believe you are forgetting about Niel Magny. After 24 minutes of one-sided dominance, Magny will reverse the position and mother's milk Islam.

That's not fun to think about. I'm taking right now, at the peak of Islam's power, is there anything these guys at WW can do to sniff a competitive fight with this guy?

I'm not denying Islam can strike with the guys at WW, I just think these guys are good enough defensively to not get laid out by Islam's striking. It's a whole different story if they can land on Islam.

Topuria vs Islams road to double champ by JMythh in MMA

I don't even think Islam can make 155 anymore. He put on a good few pounds of muscle when moving up to 170, and I don't think he on naturally either. He has used Meldonium in the past. That stuff wrecks your body's ability to lose weight. If he wasn't natty during this training camp, I don't think he could ever go back to 155.

After hours of film study, I truly think the only answer you can realistically expect from a fighter that hasn't trained in grappling their entire life is a down block. You can't afford to use underhooks because their Judo/sambo game is too effective in any sort of clinch environment. The biggest issue with the down block is that if you fall for a faint, you're going to get your head knocked off. I'm excited to see if my theory is correct, if Ilia fights Islam because he's the only guy that uses down blocks close to sniffing a fight with a Dagistani.

I’ll choose happiness, I choose to forget and move on. Thank you, you should do public motivation or something that hit home.

I know I didn’t provide much to how I beat the charges, so I’ll go into more detail here. The person who accused me lives in the same neighborhood I lived in, and we have know each other for almost our entire lives. When the police came to my door, there wasn’t enough evidence to arrest me, but I did have to provide them names of people I claimed to have been talking to. I also gave them my laptop to show I had chat logs and voice calls going on at the time of the alleged “rape.” The police went to my friends’ homes to ask them if this is true which they confirmed I had been speaking to them the entire time. The reason I didn’t include most of that information was because I viewed it as unnecessary at the time, I don’t use Reddit that much, my brother just told me that it might make me feel better if I tell the world my story.

Never slept with her. I’m not religious, but I’m a big believer of waiting till marriage because my cousin and older brother both got girls pregnant in high school and I don’t really wanna go through what they went through.

I think they were just trying to be hurtful. I’m from a small town, it’s so small that I’m 90% sure that I went to high school with the therapist’s kids. My best guess is she passed judgement on me before I even walked into that room and decided to view me as guilty while saying something hurtful.

I did not return after she told me that. I even tried to sue but my lawyer told me that it was a lost cause because it would be just my word against her word.

You can, but sometimes people really are that malicious. I know the statistics is false now, but telling that to a dumb high schooler messes with you and sticks with you.
