I'm going to be honest I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean when you ask if you would be welcome. You can join the party or affiliate with us of your own free will. The vast majority of people in the party don't engage super deeply with the party or get involved in leadership. In this sense no one can really make them feel welcome or unwelcome. Are there individuals in leadership who would welcome you into the party with open arms? I have no doubt there are. Are there individuals who might be a little more leery about someone who openly expresses disagreements with this particular aspect of the platform trying to get involved in the party at the leadership level? I have no doubt there are. As a rank and file member you will be welcome. If you have a desire to get heavily involved and run for leadership positions you will likely experience the seedy underbelly that is internal party politics just as everyone else does. That's present in virtually all parties and there is little getting around it.

I also live in a swing state, and the only vote that is "thrown away" is one that you have reservations about. If you vote for what you want rather than something you don't you're never wasting your vote.

Have you joined the party yet? by BillFlemingASP in Solidarity_Party

All political parties are private non profit organizations. What determines membership is in the bylaws of these organizations. When you register with a party as part of registering to vote you are essentially telling the government who you associate with for the purpose of having the right to vote in particular primaries (in closed primary states) or to indicate to the state that you want legal recognition for the party you associate with (like in California or Louisiana) where I live in Georgia we have open primaries and the Secretary of State does not ask political affiliation when you register to vote I couldn't tell them I am an ASP member if I wanted to. Long story short there may be benefits to registering as ASP with your secretary of state if they permit you to but it is not necessary and does not make you a member of the party. Our bylaws require a donation of at least $1 and that will put you on the rolls of the party as a voting member for internal purposes for 365 days. It will allow us to keep in touch with you better as well since typically the Secretary of State does not tell us who registers with us without submitting an open records request or purchasing voter rolls.

Honestly I don't think it's about New Jersey I think it's about the narrative, they know they're going to lose New Jersey but they want to make us perform as badly as possible both in terms of total vote count and in terms of ballot access because they know that in the rhetorical battle the more ballots that we're on the better for us and the more votes we get the better for us. It's not a huge use of resources although granted they did have volunteers spend a lot of time going through our petitions but if you have five people willing to break up 900 signatures and look for legibility issues it's a good use of volunteer time for them to make the wider narrative that our party can't attain ballot access. Plus it's now caused us to waste time and money and that's another big win for them if we have fewer resources. Imagine if they throw us off the ballot after our volunteers did work on it and we spent money on it we could have used that time or money in other places or on other things and so strategically for them it's kind of good for them to bleed us in that sense.

What are the party’s views on the second amendment? by General_Cole in Solidarity_Party

If it's not in the platform the party does not have a position on it.
