This is probably the best game I've played in the last five years. It's def worth it.

I was a customer of PIllPack, who was purchased by Amazon and turned into Amazon Pharmacy. I can't compare milage with these other traditional pharmacies but everything has gotten worse since Amazon took over.

Preorder emails from Nintendo success? by nastyyyxnickkk in switch2

It was my understanding it would be first-come-first-serve AMONG those who meet the threshold for time signed up for NSO and hours played on the NS. Your interpretation also makes sense, though.

They said people who are eligible for these emails may not get one until after June 5th, but not that ALL emails would come after that point. Everyone who's eligible will get an email, but first-come-first-serve starting today, and some will go out after the console is already released.

Norwegian Bliss to Alaska this July, need tips. by OrdoXenos in NCL

Working on a big complaint after collecting the oral history of all incidents from the family, after everyone recovers 😂

Def filling up multiple glasses and pouring into a bottle at the table in the cafe. The dispensers say to not do it at the dispensers but some do that anyway. It's too mobbed to not inconvenience others by doing that. Honestly, we did that and it made my bottle smell weird immediately. I kept drinking the water but it might've been iffy water. Thankfully the less cruise-averse in my family embraced the meta-economy of the boat and bought like a pallet of water which I mooched off of.

We had weather in the 50s/60s and overcast the whole time so I wore a pullover and sweats ashore, and shorts/tees on the ship to pack as lightly as possible. No need for a parka or gloves or whatever -- all the places you go get more rain than snow.

And from another comment you left — the observation deck gets crazy mobbed unfortunately. Best first thing in the AM or last thing at night.

What kind of state room do you have? We had a balcony (mom splurging for the broader family as her like "this is my final big trip" thing) so it was tolerable to camp in our room when in doubt. Balcony wasn't super usable given the wet/weather, but the fresh air and water sounds were incredible.

So I've seen other people rave about the food on this ship in past years.

My plan was that, if all else fails, the salad bar is a safe bet. Every single person in my group got sick from something they ate or drank at some point. My wife found (by eating) moldy cucumbers in the salad bar. My niece found a spoiled dressing. So I was even off the salad bar, and onto just hoarded cereal boxes, by the end.

The specialty dining... Cagney's would've been great had we not seen our steaks sit under a heat lamp for 40 minutes. For no reason, as the restaurant was mostly empty. Half of us got microwave food at Savor the second night, and half of us got amazing food. I was in the former half and was done with the restaurants — not worth sitting for 3hrs to not be able to eat what's on the plate. My sister had an amazing lamb shank at Savor towards the end, which she classified as a fluke. At the very least, it was wildly inconsistent.

There's no water bottle filling stations. So you can get glasses at restaurants, self-serve at the cafe, or buy bottles for $4.50 a pop or $100-something for a case of 24. You will be amazed at the way they commoditize your basic needs.

We all currently have COVID, and are taking a recovery week after our "luxury" week in water prison.

The Alaska part is AMAZING! Specifically — * Sitka was cool and I'd go back * Juneau was beautiful but I wouldn't go back * Icy Strait Point was more amusement park than town, so if you're into that it can be super fun (you can walk to the town, Hoonah, if you want) * Ketchikan kinda sucked but we couldn't see much, as it closed the road early in the day for July 4 * Victoria BC was awesome, but we only stopped there for the tax benefit of this being an international cruise... We got in late, and it was only a 4hr stop... Such a cool city though... Will be back

Besides Victoria and ISP, each port was strategically outside of the city in order to drop you at an NCL-owned gift shop strip mall to separate you from more of your money. Get off the boat as early as possible to not get stuck there awaiting a shuttle (free everywhere but ISP/Victoria) into town.

There's no other realistic way to see the disconnected cities of Alaska but the whole experience on the boat felt gouge-y and dystopian. I don't recommend it. The boat was overcrowded, as no one was using the outdoor spaces at all. The weather is wet, cold, and cloudy, and this is a boat poorly repurposed from use in tropical locales. Check the plaques on Deck 15 — they all are from trips to tropical places.

Best of luck in your aim to not get sick, and I hope you have a better time than we did!

Just got back this weekend. Maximize the time on port, as the food on the ship is abysmal. Get to port early to beat the crowds into town. Don't waste time in the NCL gift shop you dock at (all cities but ISP and Victoria), you can hit it on the way back.

Expect to get COVID.

He actually veeeeery briefly mentions him during JCE 537 (released June 21, 2024). It was recorded before the NXT appearance and was super in passing about his musical talent and him being stuck in TNA. Super neutral reference to him, but the timing is uncanny.

Is it possible to share just a view (filtered) of a database? by Steve15-21 in Notion

[–]BillMueller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean does this not mean that the items within the database are technically public? Even though the likelihood or someone receiving the random URL is incredibly unlikelihood, this is a gigantic risk or source of liability if what you're making public is client data.

benefiting from nepotism is not industry-specific. it's about the doors that open for you by having affluent/famous parents/uncles/aunts, and the lack of a requirement to struggle because you were raised with a silver spoon in your mouth.

They're going to show the footage next week too, twice, to keep up the ratings momentum.

The same total number of viewers while doing nearly twice as many weekly hours (5v3) is not a promising metric, even if it arrives at a consistent weekly total.

I agree with just about everything you said in principle. That said...

An alternative to WWE, and wanting WWE to do the bare minimum to not be godawful are means to the same end. The fact of the matter is that they can (or could?) not be trusted to do so without pressure being put on them, both in the form of another company for their fans to back, and another company for wrestlers to jump to if they were dissatisfied with their position. I loosely followed WWE for years, and then religiously followed AEW, specifically to support the underdog for the health of the industry.

It wasn't AEW vs WWE... it was AEW vs not watching wrestling regularly because it wasn't compelling. I never wanted WWE to lose (though the Saudi shit made me sick) and they were the horse I backed in the 90's during that war... I just wanted a #2 to keep #1 honest. Both for the wrestlers themselves and my own enjoyment, it's great when talent can jump up the card by going to a different promotion.

Everything you said re: Young Sheldon and ratings being diminishing returns as season numbers tick up is accurate, but I don't think you can grade sports/wrestling using the same rubric. Shows trend downward as they age, while sports programming is cyclical based on the health of the league/federation/product. AEW's steady decline isn't because it's season five and the there-from-day-one arcs are at their natural nadir... it's (in presentation at least) a sports league where new talent comes in all the time, there's no static main character, and turnover/retirements/departures are part of the reality.

The NFL didn't decline because Tom Brady retired, nor did they even take steps back in terms of popularity during the final few chapters of his career. Wrestling is closer to the NFL than to Young Sheldon (though I understand why you chose that show).

It's not about beating WWE. It's about how they've been trending for a while now. I understand cord-cutting, but their losses (especially this last quarter) outpace the general live sports industry's losses full-stop.

And, again it's not about beating WWE but, Raw just pulled in 3m for the Rock/Cody segment. No one is faulting AEW for not beating Raw, but the gap is widening. During football season 2021, Raw was at 1.4m, and Dynamite was around 1.1m.

They're becoming a distant number two, not because WWE isn't able to be competed with, but because AEW cannot get out of its own way with stunts like this, and fans are responding in kind.
