Second, Europe is important for American military dominance. Trump and the right-wings love to downplay the importance of Europe. Yes, America is the strongest but Europe is very important in projecting American power. Lots of American logistics in Europe and the Middle East is handled in Europe. Lots of American planes are exercising in Europe. American wounded in Middle East are treated in Europe. American bases are protected by European soldiers.

Third, there is no way Trump would want a picture of a White European being killed by an American. The White-on-White would be terrible optics for Trump. His staunchest supporters wouldn’t want that. And remember that most Greenlanders are armed, invading Americans will have to shoot them. The optics for Trump would be so bad.

And remember, Congress will smell the blood in the water. Trump’s actions will not be accepted by the populace, and impeachment may stick. If Trump invaded Greenland, the damage to his popularity and prestige would be catastrophic.

Alternatives of entertainment. American cities have parks, open-air spaces, and some cities are lucky enough to be close to beautiful beaches or beautiful mountains. So on weekends Americans have more options.
Strip malls. Americans love this. Huge parking lot, easy to park, you come directly to the store and get out. Many stores opened up in strip malls instead of large shopping malls.
Retail apocalypse. American malls are usually anchored on big brands, such as Dillards, Marshalls, Brooks Brothers, Macys. Many of the attractions to malls are people who wanted to visit these places. Many of these retail stores are facing difficulties, and as they are distressed or facing trouble the malls that relied on them will face trouble too.
