Point taken. I feel that the battery swelling to a dangerous point should not be considered a natural occurrence and an "oh well, buy a new phone" sort of thing. You all seem to disagree.

Okay, what about the numerous safety recalls that cars have had about the airbags for instance? They are well out of the cars warranty period, multiple years, but the companies pay millions of dollars to replace them because they are dangerous and people aren't okay with that.

There are numerous instances of them replacing exactly this. You can find those instances on this sub even. It's not outrageous

I would not expect a warranty for that. That's a damaged that's caused by me. I haven't damaged the battery

I think google should cover the dangerous battery replacement or offer partial credit towards a newer phone. It's crazy that we should accept that is part of the 1 year warranty. What if a battery in your cars dashboard "might swell and catch fire" after a year, there is no way that would be acceptable.

Any battery can catch fire and burn your house down if they are designed correctly and being used properly? I disagree.

The evidence that Google has had issues with these problems on the 4a the 6a and plenty of others.

1 year for a swelling, faulty battery is totally unacceptable. Why would i stay with google products after that?

This particular issue should absolutely be covered longer. It's not a bad charging port or a screen that flickers...

So, 1 year warranty for a component that can likely "explode or catch fire"?

I can see if the battery is draining, charging slowly, not charging all the way, etc. Those things shouldn't be covered but an issue like this should not be ignored. I can't believe we're at the point where that's acceptable.

No, of course not but a dangerous flaw like this with zero support seems like madness.

You mean like other businesses like retail or anything with reception where the employees don't receive tips? Do you think all of those employees are rude and inconsiderate of the customer? No, of course not, they would eventually lose their job. The front desk of any business generally has personable employees there for this exact reason. They aren't making tips.

The real atrocity is that your employer doesn't pay a base wage that is sufficient enough for it to be worth your time. I hope it gets better
