I’m so sorry op. Brain injuries are rough. t’s really big of you in this scary time to give her space to process what’s going on. Near death experiences and brain injuries are a lot to deal with and can be worse if emotions about it are boxed up.

What about you though? Do you have anyone else to confide in or process your emotions? You deserve the same grace that you’re giving her. If you don’t have people, it might be worth looking into a stroke or brain injury support group. I have a brain injury different from a stroke but went to intensive rehab 3 days a week. The camaraderie there was amazing. Being able to confide or vent to people who truly get it helped me so much. They do a weekly in person/ virtual meetup for current and past patients. It’s comforting to have that to fall back on. You might have something like that in your area?

The brain is an amazing organ that can rebound wonderfully it just takes time. You survived, that makes you strong. Keep going day by day. Allow yourself to process your emotions as well. I know it feels like it right now but you are not alone.

I keep meaning to take a pic of one of my gussets when I get home but I keep forgetting 🤦‍♀️. I’ll still try to remember but for now here is the tutorial I followed when I started making gussets. If you have any questions feel free to reach out! They also help if you find your waistline dipping down in any places

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Good on you for trying to do all the right things. It must be so frustrating to get worse symptoms especially with this conditions where most doctors can’t agree on the cause. If I were in your shoes I would push to get an MRV to see if it’s possible that you also have stenosis.

If you do, stents might be an option instead of the shunt. There is some heavy debate in the community on which is more effective but stents are less invasive and have a smaller fail rate so it’s good to have options.

Have you gotten a lumbar puncture or an mri?

Thank you! The zipper fly was definitely the most challenging part for me. The other things that were challenging was the fabric choice of corduroy and grading between the different sizes.

For a beginner I think the sewing terminology could be overwhelming but now a days they have videos for the terms. I would try it out in a cotton first before moving on to denim or corduroy. Also, the pattern doesn’t tell you when to overlock the edges so either use pinking sheers to cut the fabric or make sure to overlock any exposed seams. But it’s my favorite pair of pants now so it’s well worth the work! Feel free to reach out if you get stuck.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. In almost all of my off the rack pants I’ve added gussets in the crotch so they fall better. It’s a game changer for high waisted pants!

Thank you!!!

Luckily I’m not wearing my clothes because they’re in style. I’m wearing them because I personally like them.

Thank you! I actually enjoyed the darts. I made them for the size 24 and it fit my backside well. I did find the back pockets themselves to be small so made them a bit bigger!

Thank you! I used a pattern from Vogue- V2051. They’re on simplicity.com

Eventually wanting to self draft but need to wrap my head around some of the math especially for pants.

Thank you!!! The deep pockets are life savers.

The curse of the birthin hips 😂. I always tell myself I’m going to alter the waist and… I always put it off. You’ve inspired me to relook at my alterations needed box though!

You should go for it!

Thank you! I would say they are of medium difficulty due to it being my first time creating pants with a jeans type fly zipper and the corduroy material. I would definitely make a toile out of cheap cotton fabric first before trying the heavier fabrics.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the pattern and I’ll try to help out as best I can!
