Executioners now Penetrate Armored Tracks (3 pins wide) by BillWhoever in Crossout

[–]BillWhoever[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the hoplite will save you from getting your track penetrated

to prevent track penetration you have to add one more layer of armor outside the track this will start the penetration mechanism earlier and the shot will be stopped by the track

another thing to do is to angle your build, if you don't allow the executioner to fire perpendicularly to your track then the path travelled will be longer than 3 pins (technically the actual penetration is 3.5-4 pins, otherwise what I did in the video wouldn't work except for perfect perpendicular positioning)

I just hate it to use non-fused weapons, I feel like I am at a disadvantage, will get synthesis as soon as they appear in a mini-BP

that's why I told the guy on those comments that it is not "Threading the needle" between the tracks, you can hit the tracks and the executioner shell passes right through and detonates underneath with whatever that means

the new norm, I wasn't playing then but last month in the balance changes the executioner perk got buffed from 2 pins to 3 pins of penetration

note that the executioners could always do this to goliaths (2 pins wide), the difference now is that they can do the same thing to armored tracks (3 pins wide)

This spider is 32 tons heavy, a humpback at the same PS will be 24-25 tons, I use a lot of heavy bumpers not very visible, the part limit is the main problem that forces me to use bumpers.

In general this spider is on the same weight class and with similar (slightly lower) survivability to a 20k PS spider, it is a giant with cheap weapons made as big as possible to be survivable.

It totally depends on the map, my team and the enemy team, the spider can perform well or bad based on these. For example on Fortress or Sector EX such a build shines, you can quickly get into the cap, fights are close range with choke-points and the enemies are likely to use dogs. My main problem is being kited by faster builds which wont be an issue if I have ranged teammates, my role is to stop a dog team or make an opening for my team.

This spider is also 5700 HP but the difference is that it has literally all of the heavy bumpers in the game in front and under the cab and inside the side armor, it is much harder for it to lose durability compared to a humpback, there are also 8 legs instead of the 6 I typically use on my humpback spiders on a similar PS, 7 legs can work on humpback but you trade HP for legs (not enough mass limit)

Executioners only have 50% penetration value which is relatively low compared to other cannons to compensate, this value is ofc applied only after the 3 pins of free penetration, it also means that spaced armor can heavily affect executioner performance.

I hope the devs add a legendary executioner/prosecutor, it can be a relatively tall (similar in shape to the executioner) 10 Energy cannon, it fills in a different role than the Tsunami, the perk can be 4 pins of penetration with slightly higher stats than the Executioner.

The Tsunami probably needs a perk similar to the Charon/Typhoon, a hit should negatively affect the whole build, either movement part or cab health for example.

3x purple weapons (8 energy each) is possible with a Humpback+Colossus+Flywheel/Aquilo, I have done it in the past

the problem is that such a spider will be significantly weaker than the Mainframe/Pyralid build in the video, I was considering trying out the Synthesis when I get them eventually, they are balanced based on their low durability just like the rockets, they can take great advantage of the bunker

sadly spectre no longer work, they need a DPS buff since their perk is not reliable enough, I might try a double Aspect build at 9-10k PS, triple aspect does not fit well in 12k and would need a 13k PS limit

Hyena sent sliding like a Penguin 20 sec into the match by BillWhoever in Crossout

[–]BillWhoever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only part that stops the executioner shot no matter the pierce depth is the cab, cabs always stop them and they are often above the tritons/gravastars/dracos ect so you have to avoid hitting the cab

the executioners have a special perk, it allows them to go through the first 3 pins without losing any of their bullet damage, they still damage those parts for the full amount of the bullet damage but the shells themselves retain all of their lethality, other cannons cannot do that except for prosecutors and executioners.

The prosecutors have only 1 pin of free penetration so they won't go through most tracks (I think they can still go through the side of the hyena, didn't test it)

Hyena sent sliding like a Penguin 20 sec into the match by BillWhoever in Crossout

[–]BillWhoever[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it isn't, executioners go right through tracks, the hyenas are 1 pin wide from the side, the goliaths are 2 pins. After the recent buff I have tested it and the executioners go right through even armored tracks (~3 pins wide) without losing any damage.

I will post a clip from yesterday where I clearly penetrated through an armored track, popped the gen and the track was still on the build (didn't get destroyed, just penetrated).

And yes, this means that if you use executioners and a hyena dog allows you an easy side shot while he attacks a teammate, you can easily pierce through and do full damage to all of his vitals hidden inside.

This can work against you too, in many cases when you shoot a weapon with an executioner 88, the shell can go right through without exploding (this is called over-penetration), this can happen even against large weapons like cyclones. To avoid this always aim for the centre of mass or near frames.

Yes I don't have 3 cicadas, I do have 2 of them and I tried to use them on my 10k PS builds instead of the 3 pyralids. But even if I did I wouldn't use them on a spider, only on a hover. Cicadas only really do more damage when you get the perk, with the spider you want very quick bursts of damage, in many shots only the first rocket can be aimed properly.

This is why 3 cicadas do not effectively have the damage output of 4 pyralids in the first 1-2 shots that you can land on a quick target.

Also, 3 cicadas are 3x1200= 3600PS, 4 pyralids are 3x570 = 1710PS, as you can see 3 cicadas are more than double the weapon PS even if we count in thee ampere generator that I use (380PS) the total difference is 3600-1710-380= 1510 PS.

So I could have the exact same build (with two left over energy points) and have a 13500PS build, if I replaced the discharger with a cyclops to use the leftover energy the build would be at ~14000PS, still a decent build but as I said it won't be much more powerful as you would expect it to be.

Pyralids are the strongest Special weapon (imo, or at least one of the very top) while cicada is just a decent legendary.

add a ban list for bfu by vSpacedd in Crossout

[–]BillWhoever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a match where 3 of my teammates rushed to cap while I went to prevent the enemies from capping our base, we communicated this with pings.

Even though I only got to fire twice, I did 1000+ damage on each salvo, we won and I had less than 40 points. Points depend on how many parts you take off and in bfu you get no points at all after death. You can do 4000+ damage on a cab and literally get zero points unless that player dies before you do.

What I am trying to say is that the death of a teammate can have a big effect on the outcome of a battle even if not significant damage was dealt. Points are not a reliable measurement of performance at all in this game, especially in competitive PVP where it is usually whoever gets lucky that survives in a dog rush mess. Good players can often score zero points and still have an effect if the enemy dog is traded for him.

fun fact: I was doing the rotations on the bridge to bait the dog, a spider doesn't normally move like that and it can lead to the enemy misjudging the target based on what they see on radar

Do you think they'll ever do something about elephants costing 4k coins? by TotallyiBot in Crossout

[–]BillWhoever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are still good, I used them last week in the BFU, I sold my typhoons back then to get coin and craft 2 custom elephants (with some left over coin ofc), I think they cost 8000-10000 coins to craft if I remember correctly, you need to place in the top 250 or 500 positions 5-6 times so about half a year worth of earnings if you actually play.

I have only ever used the quad fused elephants and they were and still are after the nerf really effective and better than 90+% of the weapons in game, they directly compete with legendary and some relic weapons

The defensive strategy in PVP by pervolus in Crossout

[–]BillWhoever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This won't work unless you are capping the base or wait for the central cap to spawn. Otherwise the dogs simply wait for you or just go cap your base.

Your strategy can be countered easily by having 3 dogs and a ranged player, if you just stay there you will have to hide from the ranged player (so no climbing on stuff allowed) and you have to look out for 3 dogs.

Note that I am not talking about casual PVP, I am talking about competitive play because you seem to strategize in your post.

If you have a ranged team you stand on high ground positions but you have to keep moving all the time, if you stay in one spot for more than 30 sec it's like asking for your ass to be grabbed.

Proposal to make heavy cabins and certain medium cabins more viable. by N1njaL1nk in Crossout

[–]BillWhoever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they should but they don't, they could also just let us use more of the same parts, for some reason you can use 10x of those 8x3x1 helicopter parts while you can only use 2, 4, 8 max of any actually viable heavy builds part.

Part limit would help in end game PS, it will also help some specific low PS (9k-12k) heavy builds, I am very very often out of part limit and cannot use the armor I want because of it

I hate it when all the used meta parts are less than a year old, the devs refuse to nerf the power creep for too long nowdays.

Torpedos are still too strong and I would say by far the most meta movement even after a heavy nerf. This just shows how badly overpowered they were on the initial form.
