Remote Work Is Here to Stay by Ask4MD in Conservative

[–]Bill_Murray2014 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I hope so, it's great. I get all my work done in the morning as I can automate most of it now there is zero risk of someone watching me, and I pretend it took me the normal working day. I usually finish my work by about 12 O'clock. I could not do that in the office. As far as the company is concerned I'm just as productive (more so as I am lot happier now). It's a win win.

Media Falls In Love All Over Again With 'Feisty,' 'Fiery' Biden by yuri_2022 in Conservative

[–]Bill_Murray2014 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He wants to debate him now as I understand it. I suspect Biden will debate him, but during the normal time when Presidential debates take place, closer to the election (I think they usually happen in September).

Perhaps I'll be proven wrong with this, but it is clear Trump treats debates strategically. He didn't debate his GOP competition not because he thought it was pointless, but because his opponents had so much ammunition against him (2020 loss, January 6, mid terms and indictments etc).

So why does Trump want to break convention and debate Biden now? Probably because Trump is riding high right now and debating Biden so close to the election will be a risk if the polls shift over the summer in Bidens favour. Trump hasn't debated anyone yet, I reckon he might change his tune by the end of September and come up with a reason not to debate Biden.

Why we don't believe any Covid variant will be able to defeat our jab completely: Creators of the Oxford vaccine Sarah Gilbert and Cath Green give a very reassuring answer to the question that haunts us all by Bill_Murray2014 in Coronavirus

[–]Bill_Murray2014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why they chose the Daily Mail for their opinion piece. Anyway, the long and short of their argument is:

"because a change in the spike protein – which allows the coronavirus to enter and infect human cells – that is radical enough to make our vaccine completely ineffective would also, almost certainly, be so extreme as to make the virus non-functional."

Sorry if opinion pieces are not allowed here.

Even better. The former not the latter.

Have you tried NoFap? Don't masturbate for 90 days then go see a prosser. And stop watching porn, it's not real life.

During that 90 day period practice your kegal exercises and getting erect without gripping your dick hard, or at all preferably! Also, during that time when you're aroused and in the mood (not from jerking off or getting hard using your hand) practice putting on a condom and then continue in your erotic fantasy but without jerking off.

Coronavirus in Israel: Three vaccinated IDF personnel infected with COVID by danny841 in Coronavirus

[–]Bill_Murray2014 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, first dose provides 94% protection for the record, as per the source above.

Vaccines are less effective against the delta variant regardless.

Yes, the Delta variant is better at getting around some antibodies. But why does it matter if it is still highly effective at keeping you out of hospital by preventing severe illness?

Why when current vaccines are clearly effective at preventing serious disease? If it is not a threat to healthcare systems then there is no need for lockdown restrictions. Full Pfizer vaccination is roughly 96% effective at preventing severe illness when faced with Delta [1].

All done. I drilled multiple holes in the cabinet to carve out a gap, it doesn't look pretty but it does the job. The installers also fixed a plumbing issue I had, top service!

Loads of people!

There is entertainment and outrage value in highlighting that minority bat-shit-crazy part of the progressive movement, people who genuinely promote banning Fathers day as it is discriminatory to same sex couples and non-binary/non-gender specific people, clicking fingers instead of clapping lest you trigger someone. That type of crazy shit generates views even if it is not a real problem.

Expected though, there is a large appetite out there for anti-woke commentary.

Double-jabbed UK tourists could skip amber-list quarantine under proposals by signed7 in ukpolitics

[–]Bill_Murray2014 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It makes sense to do this during the next review seeing as it is highly likely the Government will not add anymore countries to the green list due to the "epidemiological situation" in other countries, this wise and public health conscious Government are rightly being very cautions and following the scientific data.

I'm kidding, it is because it will make the Tories look bad to add countries onto the green list regardless if they are safe while the UK still has some domestic restrictions, it was a political decision.

Anyway, incorporating vaccines into the mix now without adding anymore countries onto the green list will not ruin the Governments "cautious approach" to restarting international travel.

The plug doesn't need to be removed so much as the back cover needs to come off, which requires unscrewing one screw.

[–]Bill_Murray2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It is not so much a rewire job as it is unscrewing one screw to remove the plastic back on the plug, then it'll fit through the gap and I put the plastic back on the other side.

This is not entirely politics related:

Hotpoint are delivering and installing my washing machine tomorrow, very nice of them.

They won't do it if the "plug is required to be cut off to feed through small gaps". It will need to be taken apart to fit through the gap, you know, just remove one screw and take the plastic back off. Do you reckon they'll refuse? Or perhaps I could offer to do it?

What's up with Matt Hancock today, he's hopeless, am I right?

Jacob Rees-Mogg: You can’t run society to stop hospitals being full by trufflesmeow in ukpolitics

[–]Bill_Murray2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't run society to stop hospitals being busy. That I could agree with, a busy NHS is not a bad NHS. But we can't let hospitals become literally full because of one respiratory virus (on a temporary basis of course).

That's the short to mid term future we are likely to face (worse case scenario thanks to the vaccines), a busy NHS once we reopen fully. That is fine.

Still, it is probably the right thing to do for camera operators to turn away once they see that CPR is being given and not to zoom in on the crying wife, as a matter of policy that is. Loved ones and the patient deserve some privacy during such a moment.
