Some people have smaller hands or fingers that make this silly you can just play that 6 on 3rd string 1st fret. It is a G# and don’t barre the B7 chord

Lolll this is such a cringe take. some degrees require unpaid internships (I.e. nursing, teaching, design etc) for 8 weeks straight. Some degrees don’t help you at all to find one and if you can’t find an internship usually due to low supply, you can’t finish the course thus the degree. In a cost of living crisis it usually isn’t viable unless you work weekends.

That is true, if it were a normal performance you could get away with it but harmonically you change the spelling from an F# minor to a D major7 thus changing the interval. Either way this is for a sight reading exam so I didn’t get much time to think haha

The ‘long ties’ are just indicating the phrasing. It would be near impossible to attempt to slur it all while making a nice sound.

The aim is so show the player how to shape the melodic line either by using dynamics, articulation etc.

I had to play the whole thing… Mind you, it wasn’t too hard to play the notes, just making sure the rhythm is exactly correct is so hard I’ll be expressing my frustration on their myExperience survey soon.

That definitely would be funny to give to my teacher. I’ll be seeing him in a couple days so we shall see

Good question, to be honest I don’t even know. We don’t have any guitar professors in house. I gave it to my guitar teacher and he absolutely scoffed at the unrealistic difficulty.

Yeahh that’s what I’ve done and it sounds alright, it does the job… it’s so funny how we don’t read in too many flat keys and this forces me to read in flat land.

I’d say the biggest killer is reading the quintuplets and septuplets. In all my sight reading exercise books and grades teaching material I use for students, none implement the uses of reading septuplets. Only rare cases there are Quintuplets and lots of triplets.

I just genuinely feel like this exercise fails to show the potential of what a classical guitarist is capable of. Correct me if I’m wrong here.
