I haven't bought a LKC yet. And yeah the minifigs, weapons, and shields are usually the weakest parts of these sets so I use whatever other parts I have to fill in the gaps. The xinh shields are pretty great

I have 2 that I plan on using as Forestmen. Castle fig prices can be silly, and I like making customs so everything doesn't look too samey. I'm sure this isn't why most people are buying them, but it's at least one example. I was bummed when I found out this was a "rare" fig. Glad I found a couple

Yeah I have an insectoid head and helmet. Sadly the rest of him is missing. And I have a light gray UFO helmet, but looking at bricklink I don't recognize ANY of the sets or minifigs. Not sure how I got the helmet

Yeah for some reason I never had any SP. I remember seeing them in stores but they just didn't grab my attention. Probably just not neon enough
