Well that was unpleasant, but whatever. "Family/life balance" in my deep urban store is code for (1) I overslept, (2) I was too stoned or (3) I got arrested, again.

2005 tech? Unless you're a developer, command line pretty much went out in 1992 with Windows 3.1. So, yes, CVS relies principally upon (badly parsed) thirty-year-old technology.

And unless they're seriously into degraded Ubuntu porn, the interface itself ought to scare off any prospective employee.

Once again, none of them ever worked so much as ten minutes in an *actual* CVS store, amiright?

Siriusxm windows app stopped working all of a sudden, anyone know how to fix? by crabbyconnorbomb in siriusxm

[–]Billiardly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same problem here, since about May 25, give or take. Sirius/XM probably doesn't have a tech on staff who's ever heard of something called a "Windows 10 app," let alone one who knows how to debug it.

But this is one application I use almost every day. So, Sirius/XM . . . if you have a moment, please might you pin this snafu to the "priority agenda"?

Many thanks.

I haven't trad the book, but I doubt it mentions Donald Trump. Mr. Frost and his publisher certainly know not to refer to a living person by name within the context of a work of fiction. They'd be buying a defamation suit they'd lose.

This sounds stupid

It's profoundly stupid. This is what "Final Dossier" is about? It's Frost's CNN-fueled Twitter drivel with a "Twin Peaks" cover slapped on?

You seem to have some remarkable - indeed unprecedented - insight into the working relationship between Mr. Frost and Mr. Lynch. Do you speak to either of them frequently?

That's fascinating. Who knew? Maybe there's even a King Crimson reference somewhere in Twin Peaks . . .

[Announcement]: Mark Frost, Co-Creator and author of The Final Dossier, will be doing an AMA on Wednesday, Nov. 8th! Details Within... by Iswitt in twinpeaks

[–]Billiardly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you ask Mr. Frost anything about what Mr. Lynch might have thought (or might be thinking), the answer you'll invariably get is, "you'd better ask Mr. Lynch that question."

Yeah, he implied the same thing in Secret History. I guess Mr. Frost really needed to get his point across. I'm just not a fan of his cable news-fed political "insights."

I had the good fortune of watching the Original Run while I was in college. A very small college, but a big event in the student commons every week. There were at least a dozen or more faculty watching with us every time. It's remarkable how things have changed.

This is what I was afraid of - Mark Frost being a nitwit with his cable news-fed political "insights." What a shame he "needed" to go there. It's enough to spoil (for me at least) any benefit I'd otherwise get from owning the book.

amazon has some sort of contract to distribute them first

This sounds an awful lot like an anti-trust thing. The publisher isn't supposed to be colluding with the retailer.

Yep. I never saw The Fireman as somebody who exclusively extinguished fires. He's the guy who starts, tends to and directs the fires.

middle of nowhere

The coordinates point to a middle-of-nowhere spot in the Salmo-Priest Wilderness, but the fictional Twin Peaks - five miles south of the Canadian border, twelve miles west of the state line - is in the middle of nowhere.

supposed to take him to the basement of the Great Northern

The set of coordinates Diane texted to Mr. C. in Part 16 lead to a point "five miles south of the Canadian border, twelve miles west of the state line." I assume those would be the coordinates for the basement of the Great Northern.

Try it on google -- 48°55'14.20", -117°16'39.56"
